While it was a good episode overall, I spent most of it rolling my eyes given that so much was just a liberal’s wet nightmare. From Mexican Jesus and the peacekeeper firing line (something that has NEVER happened, btw) to a town full of gun worshipping puritans and an Odin Quincanon-channeling Vulcan, it was just

What is “colorful?”

That would be nice... if PETA actually did animal rescue. Spoiler: they don’t.

In that usage it needs to be “sammich”

Not so fast. The men are all shirtless. The women. Fully clothed. Is that all men are to you. Exposed pecs and ripped abs. We have brains. We have feelings. We are more than just our physical appearance. With some of us the brain is all we have going for us. How dare you!

I think another large part was that the discourse of the film very quickly went into the same type of identity politics as God’s Not Dead, with supporting the film on all fronts was essential to identifying as a True Believer and anyone with any doubts was a filthy unbeliever trying to spread crush the believers and

It’s not a message film, it’s far too shallow for that. It’s a controversy film. They hoped that by courting controversy, that by baiting that backlash they could get people talking about the movie. This would generate buzz and get butts in seats, or at least that’s how the theory went.

Ugh, you can’t let Ghostbusters go, can you?

Look, the backlash wasn’t about sexism, the backlash was because swapping out everyone for an all female cast was an obvious marketing ploy. The entire cast could’ve been male, and absolutely nothing of substance would’ve changed. Combine this with the fact that the movie

I can’t wait for the inevitable evolution of this genre:

Our first hint that 2017 is gonna make us yearn for the halcyon days of 2016.

Whats with the nibble clamps on Yogi? Is this some type of BDSM Bear parade?

Honestly, no one wants to be any-fucking-where near Newark. Because it’s Newark.

The reason this building isn’t selling is very simple and it has nothing to do with the novelty... it’s the fact that it’s in a small town an hour’s drive from Columbus, Ohio. Nobody wants to relocate their business there.

Boo-fucking-hoo ! It’s a fucking medieval fantasy snuff show, rape is part of it, grow up and get over it, it's not like the actress was raped in real life.

Apparently you are only allowed to write/draw characters that match your ethnicity/background. So from now on, every comic will have a team of 100 people writing/drawing it, and comics now cost $20 each.
