Interesting. I’ve always viewed Mercedes as the status symbol car, Audi as a quirky and unique but overpriced option (my opinion on that has changed recently though with the sheer amount of them since I moved to CO), and BMW as THE car for the enthusiast. Though that is changing with BMW’s shift towards uglier cars

Completely inexcusable on Tesla’s part. It’s crap like this that really makes me wish Cadillac or BMW had the capabilities to build a competitor to the 3.

Forget the RWD V8. He needs a Honda Element. Period.

Going to the best spots in the country (all out west) will have long stretches with few places to stay at times and can be extremely expensive if near a national park in summer. You need the flexibility to camp out anywhere (on any dirt national forest service road)

Calling it now. F3X 3/4 series will be the pinnacle of BMW exterior design.

We did buy in 2019. Got massive discounts on a new Edge with only the options we wanted and I’m continually surprised by how much I really like it. The adaptive cruise with lane centering pretty much drives itself on the highway. The only mid-Size SUV we drove that we liked better was the Q7, but my wife is very

Manual V8? Cheap? Yes please!

Why not just make one lane a really expensive toll lane so that the rich don’t have to sit in traffic?

Any old Jeep is CP for me. But that color is great!

Brand loyalty? Never had it. As soon as Nissan stopped making cars I liked (to import), I had no problem dropping my enthusiasm for them. I bought my BMW because I really wanted the Supra-esque 3.0 Turbo Inline 6. It’s a phenomenal motor and the car is so perfectly balanced to drive that I probably shouldn’t have a

Tesla stock should be a case study someday for why you can’t just rely on fundamentals and data and completely ignore momentum, a cult following, and Wall Street insanity. I’ve wanted to buy OR short it so many times the last few years, but I have thankfully resisted thus far.

I’ve turned 180 on Tesla the last few months and am actually considering the Model 3 now. Currently I’m betting on the Y to create a flood of used 3's in my area to finally drop the used value of these cars down to a reasonable level.

Why does Porsche always tease us with special colors that are only ever available to buy through special order and thus never show up on the used market at a reasonable price for an enthusiast?

I was a bit shocked when I ran a TCO analysis on the new Kia Telluride for a friend looking at new 3 row SUV’s. It was much, much higher than all of its competition from Ford, Honda, VW, etc. And that was assuming you bought a lower trim model at around 1500 off MSRP.

Love these cars, but that’s too many miles for me.

Those are all fine motors, but only two of them would make my list.

Why is it so surprising that fuel economy standards are being adjusted to more reasonable goals? They are still on the way up, which is fine. I think there are other pollution sources that should be more of a concern. We are already so incredibly efficient with ICE, weight and aerodynamics of vehicles. It’s time to

And oh yeah, it’s GREEEEENNNNNN!!!!!!!!

While a much newer California for not much more is the better deal. I can’t say no to manual transmision, V12, and back seat for kids.

I feel like the answer to half of these is Honda Element. It’s just that good!

270 from the Tesla at higher speeds and colder weather is great! (A lot of people forget to mention air density effects on aerodynamic drag in the cold is also a very significant factor at higher speeds)

If I go with a 3D next, I’ll be putting fat performance tires and non-aerodynamic wheels on it. Any range over 100
