I would argue that despite the temptation, cutting ties with acquaintances is the opposite of what we should be doing if there’s really a desire to see healing across our nation.

First, he was very clear that his comparison was only around being justified in acting against rules that are wrong, not in the wrongs themselves.

Yay! Non-politicized content about doing life better from the site about doing life better!

Most people have parents, so no. We don’t need to continuously alter language to pander to everyone who doesn’t perfectly fit the scenario.

This article reads like an advertisement for health insurance providers. I don’t see anything other than “there might be gaps in coverage” that specifically identifies an issue with this low cost health insurance. Isn’t this the argument against most cheap health insurance options?

The angst is always dialed up near 10 on Jezebel, but I thought peak blame would hit a bit sooner.

The only time I soak a dish or dishes is if something has become cooked onto it (my slow cooker insert is the most frequent offender).

Let’s start with the fact that we perceive Sinclair, or any corporation, or people or entities that espouse a different political viewpoint as “the enemy”. Refrain from engaging in pseudo-journalism or public discourse until you can manage to get beyond that flawed perspective.

Yes we did. I don’t discount your premise that guns have come a long way since the days of muskets, but fully automatic rifles were a thing at least as early as 1914. The “Tommy Gun”, a sub machine gun that gained notoriety in the 1920s because of its use by gangsters, is even more deadly than the AR-15 and was

I don’t really buy the “all mega corporations” are evil thing. Sorry. Sure they’re all about making a profit and that usually comes at a cost of human or environmental resources at some point. But they generally don’t have evil in their corporate hearts.

How do they “prey” upon women, and for what gain? Have you ever taken steps to look at the information or services that are being provided, or consider what harm they could bring? How are low-income or less educated women less capable of making a choice or walking out the door when presented with lies or a perspective

One sided much? Sure there are extremest centers like the ones you mention but there is no mention of the tons of centers that offer free medical care (by licenses nurses), information, or ultrasounds to women who have no access to medical care of their own?

That’s not entirely true. I’m sure some don’t, but some do help dispense donations of things like diapers, formula, etc. I think those are usually not on-site because of space limitations, the example I knew of was able to house that stuff at a nearby church where women could go and get them once a week. They provided

Not at all, what repercussions do parents have by handing their kids violent games? My parents didn’t let me play CoD or Halo until I was 17. No complaints here, there are plenty of other games out there that I played. Now if kids are underage drinking for instance there are harsh penalties which vary by state.

Violence conditioning is a thing. See everyone refers back to the 90s but games weren’t as viceral as they were now. Now do I think this is a video game problem? Not exactly. I think entertainment in general is more violent. The realism tied to these images is absurd. Your didn’t have to much off that when were

Scapegoating is offering something up undeservedly as a solution...or for the sake of expediency. Video games include simulations of killing, and even if you and I know they can’t cause it, they’re one of many common threads, including possible mental illness, that have been correlated to most shooters in recent

Um, Newsweek said this in 2014.

Bullshit. When your first assumption is that disagreeing with you makes one morally bankrupt all the dialog in the world is just wasted breath.

By the same token, what would keep a parent from buying a rifle for their son once the legal purchase age is raised?

You have to admit, it’s interesting how when we defend gaming we’re quick to say that it’s parents, not the laws of the land that are deficient.

Why not treat M games like Alcohol? Can’t purchase them with or for a child under 17 and accounts found in violation are banned (At least until the user is 17). At the very least we’d get rid of some whiny kids in multiplayer.
