Right? And it’s not Kate Capshaw’s fault. She does the best with the material she’s given. But she becomes part of the plot for literally no reason, does nothing but complain and scream, she and Indy seem to genuinely dislike each other but out of nowhere decide they want to bang anyway, and has no real affect on the

I mean, this work environment actively destroys people’s lives, and we do lose a few sometimes due to the stress of it all. There are plenty of anecdotes about failed marriages, missing out on kids events, not having kids, etc from the video game industry due to crunch. I’m sure it applies here too.

I will die on the hill that Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is still better than Temple of Doom. Not that KotCS is good, mind you, but I still find it a more enjoyable watch than Temple. It’s largely, but not entirely, Willie Scott’s fault.

I agree with the sentiment , but saying that this “cost human lives” means a different thing than what happened. But yes, I loved this movie, and it sucks that people were upset with the conditions under which it was made.

You know . . . it’s almost like the Studios dont actually have the VFX workers best interests at heart here.

Did you really “so-so” national treasure?!? That movie IS a national treasure. The second film is “so-so”.

This list shows some pretty severe recency bias; there was a wave of imitators in the 80s, many of which were low-budget exploitation pictures, that get overlooked here. Several people have mentioned Romancing the Stone, the Chamberlain Quatermain, and Tales of the Gold Monkey, but there was also High Road to China,

Where the hell is Romancing the Stone (and its sequel)? As far as Indy imitators go, it’s not only the first out of the gate, but it was also very influential in its own right. Half the adventure movies on this list steals its its romance dynamic.

Fantastic movie, fantastic cast, fantastic sci-fi.

I’ve loved Kingdom of the Crystal Skull since I first saw it. The hate is way over-blown. Personally, the only scene I’d remove is Shia swinging with the (terrible CGI) monkeys, everything else can stay.

I still feel this has more re-watchability than Temple. At least they GO to different places in Skull. HOWEVER, where this movie fails miserably is that it never feels the actors are really there in their environments. I initially thought this was a green screen movie but (if I remember right) later found out it was

TROS that’s what they did. They repurposed old footage of her from the previous movies. For the flashback of Leia and Luke training, I know she was played by her daughter with Carrie’s likeness. I want to say it was a deep fake but I’m not sure what they would count as.

I thought TRoS had unused Leia footage and that they didn’t use a CGI Leia, as opposed to Rogue One.

But good for Sam J. to stick with it. At least we know that if Disney ever does it, they’ll get shit for it

Samuel L. Jackson is tired of all this mother fucking AI in these mother fucking shows.

It’s a magical place.

I want to believe Hill dying in the first act is a callback to Winter Soldier. We’ll see her come in with the cavalry to save the day in the third act.

Over 10 fucking years now they’ve had opportunities to let Cobie Smulders do the action hero thing and they just won’t let it happen, ever!

We’ve now got half the cast of Solo: A Star Wars Story in the MCU

There’s no real explanation for why they are committing acts of violence [...]. It doesn’t appear as if the Skrulls want to undermine any systems of government; what they’re doing is plain old terrorism, full of random high-density, high-visibility targets all over the globe.

Killing off Hill like this sucked. We get a little bit of depth between her and Fury and then thppt she’s dead.
