Even if you're doing nothing wrong, they might act on a bullshit informant's story, or even simply fail to double-check the address they're going to raid. Then you've got flash-bang grenades in your kid's crib, and you're completely innocent.

"they get more training in those kinds of situations, so if it's all properly ran and everyone has the right attitude it should be safer than a regular cop with a gun. "

Besides the transplants, you have a lot of folks (especially in Fairfax and Loudoun) are connected to military contracting and private security, i.e. folks who share the world views and often materially benefit from more aggressive and military-like policing.

I only found out about this video within the past year. I go back to it all the time when I need a laugh. Excellent choice for a first gif! (I've yet to post one; now that I've seen yours I know I'll have to step up my game when it's time.)

Ditto

I used to be an assistant public defender and am now a private criminal defense lawyer. As such, I get to know details about prosecutors' personal lives. It would make your skin crawl if you knew how many prosecutors bed up with cops that they inevitably meet through their work......which involves cops as witnesses

This is my furst successful gif. A new era of commenting is born for me.

Good grief! Where did these cats find water beds? 1978?

There is no such thing as an "independent federal inquiries".

Remember, if you aren't doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about. Until you are doing nothing wrong and they knock down your door and shoot you.

I just read the story. It's outrageous, to put it mildly. I'm surprised (well, not really) that these stories don't make national 'news.' Safe to say the security guard probably wasn't part of a union.

Isn't it time that that an independent federal inquiries be made into all police killings? "The District Attorney declined to indict"—- I can't think of a more bullshit, infuriating set of six words

I wonder if all the racist trolls will come out in force here to say they were bad characters who deserved what was coming to them. Something tells me they won't.

This is what happens when you make your police your internal military. If you tell guys on a SWAT team that they're going to be in a situation where somebody might try to kill them, they're going to get itchy trigger fingers, they're more likely to shoot first and ask questions later.

The police are being represented in the Geer case by Assistant County Attorney Kimberly Baucom. Her husband, David Baucom, was the Fairfax County undercover cop who bet taxpayer money on football with Sal Culosi and called in the SWAT team that killed him.

In one of FCPD's less embarrassing moments this year, a deputy was caught shoplifting at Target.

"area residents are too rich and content to get worked up about the occasional taxpayer-funded slaying."

Fairfax is just a collection of subdivisions full of people looking to ignore their neighbors as much as humanly possible. The fact that so few turn out in protest is not surprising, but also fairly depressing.

and yet according to some cops WE are the thugs
