Adamczyk sounds like she doesn’t understand minimalism, or if she does this article portrays it badly. Consciously buying fewer cheap clothes while extending their use is just as if not even more minimalist than buying fewer expensive clothes.
It’s not entirely wrong. I have read a variety of decluttering books and articles, including Marie Kondo’s, and they definitely say “you can always buy a new one,” so there is that element of classism in assuming that one will always have the disposable income to replace anything in their household.
you had me until “limousine liberals”, and also from my own experience growing up poor in a home of hoarders. So my life experience is the exact opposite of yours, but I don’t blame any of the misunderstanding on some political 1 liner. People are all different.
Well thank God that everything in the future will be owned by just one extremely large mega-corporation so as we don’t have to go through this complicated ‘who owns what’ rights shit.

I’ll never understand why people can’t count to 3 properly.
I can tell you’re a fuckin’ hit at parties.
I’ll never understand what people see in going on to a pop culture blog and saying “I’ll never understand what people see in” some piece of pop culture that a great many people love.
Not necessarily related but seriously, fuck off.
Disclaimer - I’m not a Vin Diesel fan boy - he’s made some trash films, but to say that the FF wasn’t making big cash until Fast 5 is a bit of a reach. They were successful enough to make 4 movies before he appeared in the franchise. That’s like saying, the Bond films didn’t start making big cash until Daniel Craig…
This is almost certainly not the chic new style, but our pediatrician told us, “You gotta put her down, say goodnight, and walk out. Leave her there alone, let her cry, and she will, and you’ll hate yourselves. But give it 45 minutes. It will seem like an eternity, but don’t go back in. She’ll fall asleep on her own.…
My parents managed through it by staying with my grandfather, whose dog would run up to and perch against the crib to see what the noise was any time I (or was it my brother?) started crying, thereby making the crib start rocking and giving me a dog to look at.
Agreed, we went to a baby sleep seminar (yeah, yeah, we’re lame) and they taught this and it worked like magic. Also, lose the white noise machine. It’s the same principle, they should be used to and able to handle being awake or hearing things that are normal in a room/house. Even (maybe especially) if your house…
Hey man. I see you’re trying to be helpful and I’m into that. I do wish more people are into the straight-forward, let’s see if this works out the gate approach. I am definitely a fan of “making it happen” sooner than later.
Spoken like a loyal shill of Stewart and Lynda Resnick.
at the same point in time, he isn’t wrong. Dating apps users fall into 2 categories, those that are just bullshazzing and wasting peoples time, and those that want to get something to happen.
This! California also needs to recycle our waste water instead of dumping treated water into the sea. It is a lot cheaper and more environmentally friendly to purify waste water for drinking than to pay for desalination. It is also a more predictable supply than simply relying on rainfall.
We’ve got to get better and precipitation retention. When water falls, we should have much more storage ability, it shouldn’t just blast everything away into the ocean.
Despite what the rich San Joaquin Valley Ag conglomerates would have us believe California needs dams for storage AND high-speed rail AND they are just going to have to stop farming in what has geologically always been and increasingly more so been a DESERT.
