The spiralling ‘holier than thou’ dipshit would argue himself back into being 3/5ths of a person if he fucking could just to spite other people.

This is just so fucked. We’re going to be living with Trump’s Supreme Court legacy for generations. I don’t think I have much hope left for us, if I’m honest.
Just ignore the ruling at this point. If SCOTUS really believes the NY gun law was unconstitutional, let them go an enforce it. FUCK all Republicans.
One day Thomas will write an opinion putting himself back in chains. What an absolute fucking nightmare of a human being that nut is.
Would you rather these students, teachers, faculty, and parents relive their trauma every day? I don’t understand being against this. Obviously the police need to be held accountable but tearing down schools where mass shootings occur is what is typical (sadly too typically) done.
I saw it. She and her mother were simply doing their jobs. Then Trump and his followers made their lives a living hell.
It wasn’t a USB drive they were passing to each other. It was a box of ginger mints.
I’m exceedingly pleased by this post’s implication that The Root actually watched this hearing. Not as glad as I am to see that Ruby Freeman and Wandrea Moss have pending lawsuits [1][2] over this shit, or so thrilled as to not look askance at the “not riveting” comment, but exceedingly pleased nonetheless.
My dad grew up southern Baptist in Oklahoma. Granted, I wasn’t there, but based on his memory, and the reason he’s no longer of any Christian church, is because racism and misogyny were requirements, not aberrations. He’s from a time and place where Black people literally lived across the tracks, and the simple fact…

I’d vote to put him in the captain’s chair!
All hail Geordie La Forge.
As a librarian, I’m glad that we have an ally as well respected as Levar Burton.
It is not chattel slavery. It is, however, involuntary servitude. The Thirteenth Amendment distinguishes between the two, and the Thirteenth Amendment banned both. You can’t compel a woman to carry a fetus to birth, increasing her chances of death in the process, without running afoul of the prohibition on involuntary…
Articles like this are the reason why I check out Jezebel less and less.
We fought a war a couple of hundred years ago so that we wouldn’t have to give a shit about this stuff
I feel completely the same way. Seriously, fuck cops, but without any sort of floatation aid they would be searching for two bodies and not one, especially if the cops are not trained in water rescue. I feel for the man and his family though, you would have to be pretty scared to try to swim across a lake to get away…
I can’t find the video, and I don’t usually give police the benefit of the doubt, but going out to help a drowning person without a floating device or a rope attached to land or a boat is asking to be drowned yourself, especially if you’re not a strong swimmer.
They are in no way obligated to ‘protect’ or ‘serve’ anyone, they’re here to keep the under classes in line.
