In the case of the Gilroy shooting, yeah it just might have. I’m from NV where the shooter traveled to buy a gun because the laws are so lax here. It very well could have stopped one.

Laws don’t stop anything 100%. Laws are to improve behavior. Do our murder laws do anything to prevent murder? Of course not. But we keep them. If we can pass laws that make it even a little more difficult for people to get lots of high-powered weapons so easily, they'll be worth it.

A heart attack saved my neighbor. When they were checking for blockage in advance of bypass surgery they discovered he had a large aortic aneurysm getting ready for a blow-out. They performed basically emergency surgery and then he had to wait months before he was healed enough for the bypass surgery.
