As I mention at the end of the post, this photoshop incident isn’t a big deal. But we’ll take any small victory these days when American teens are being placed in concentration camps and lose 20 pounds over a few weeks because they got picked up for being the wrong color.

Back when the controversy first erupted that was proposed as a compromise by the governor, and the opponents rejected it - it’s all or nothing for them. 

2 telescopes are currently in the process of being decommissioned. and 3 more are slated to be decommissioned by the time TMT is operational. Those sites are actually more problematic for a telescope the size of TMT. The site chosen should be less impactful to sightlines.
