I have to agree with Wendy here, this "charity gift" is one of the most sacrilegious things I've ever seen done to the fashion house associated with Grace Kelly. You can't even buy one of these bags casually.

Yeah, that's way more bothersome to me than someone writing on a bag they own.

It's tacky and offensive that there is a bag that costs more than what a large number of Americans make in a year.

From a design standpoint, the new poster is very modern and well-balanced - I think it helps communicate this new era of television where people are gaining more visibility

But... the outfits in the new ad are so much better. Can't we be happy that they're not forcing those poor children into wearing camo and leopard print?

THANK GOD you have a common first name or Us Weekly would be knocking down your door.

I think it's really more for the bride & groom, honestly. Remember how they used to put disposable cameras on the table so guests could snap candids of the reception for the bride and groom to see later? This is basically the modern, social-mediafied version of that.

You could also photobomb every couple you see getting their pictures taken at the park. Part of inviting people to your wedding is the hope that the people you love aren't total jerks who can behave themselves and that when strangers see a wedding happening they just ignore it or smile for a moment. Otherwise outdoor

No that's totally what it's for. This whole discussion is confusing because every wedding I've been to seems to have some sort of official or UNofficial hashtag so that guests can share with other guests that they are not friend with, and absolutely nothing to do with going viral or sharing with the whole world,

Thank you for being the voice of reason.

It's not to make more people see your pictures, its so attendees can find/share each others' wedding photos with one another. It's like a Gmail label so the next day I can click on the hashtag (that everyone else in the world doesn't know/care about) and easily see all the pictures guests took while they were there.

I sent some of mine to the designer of my dress and he made me internet famous for like a day. I was thrilled! (Seriously, I'm not being sarcastic. It brought out a narcissism in me I never knew I had.)

But.... that's not how hashtags work. Just bc you hashtag something on insta, doesn't make it public. The insta has to be public for the images with the hashtags to be public. Therefore! Instead of requesting your friends to not hashtag your wedding, you need to tell your friends not to take any pictures and post them

I've never seen a wedding hashtag that was just #wedding, though. The entire point of the wedding hashtag is to use your names or an inside reference and to share that hashtag with friends and guests. And if you're just hashtagging your wedding with #wedding, well, you're dumb.

Yeah so the reason for a wedding hashtag is so you can easily find all the pictures that people take with their phones. So it's a hashtag that the guests are given so when they take a picture of the wedding or reception, you can find it later. It isn't a tactic for making your wedding "viral" or anything, it's a label

They don't. And the implication they do is one of the myriad things wrong with this essay here.

It's an easy way to find photos people have taken. If you use a hashtag with say your two first names and the year, you're friends add the #John&Jane2014 Jane can search the hashtag and find all the pictures. As can all of the people at the wedding. It's not about pretending to be Kim & Kanye, it's simply using a

I think that people will just click around on Instagram and look at anything with a particular hashtag, I like to do it with #dogs and #thriftstore find, and I'm sure people do it with #wedding. But I guess I don't see how this story is a "cautionary tale," if anything happened, it's not explained. It all seems pretty

What happened to when Jezebel was a feminist site? Half the articles posted now just sound like boring blog posts that have nothing to do with anything.

Whatever. Some people don't care about others seeing their wedding photos.
