That statement is just a bunch of corporate speech. All these logos are being so samey. The logo they’ve got is fine. The logos of Bandai and Namco pre-merger were also fine. Sega and Sammy are one company but their brands and Atlus are still out there.

No, that’s incorrect. Marvel Studios’ lawyer told her people after Disney+ launched that they planned on releasing the movie in theaters, with the understanding that that’s what the contract required, and saying they’d circle back if plans changed. Then the rona hit. Disney then announced the streaming plan. ScarJo’s

I think Disney saw a reasonable chance that if this got into open court, they might be fucked big time. I’m not surprised they de-escalated from their tonedeaf accusation.

She was great in Split, I’ve heard good things about The Queen’s Gambit and she’s in Edgar Wright’s upcoming movie.

You may have a point there. I can’t imagine Martinet’s Mario voice having a lot of room for dramatic range. But bottom line, they could do so much better. Even if they want a name they can put on a poster, there are other actors who can do it. Danny DeVito, for example. Wouldn’t that be perfect?

There are names in this cast that I’m not necessarily opposed to having in a Mario movie (Kevin Michael Richardson and Jack Black, specifically). But this is another shameful example of the celebrification of voice acting. I was pleasantly surprised when Colleen Villard turned up in the Sonic movie but I shouldn’t

Do you really want him to do an Italian accent?

HIRE 👏 VOICE 👏 ACTORS!

Waluigi being left out is a great Nintendo tradition.

Not to be confused with Chris-chan.

Now playing

I have some thoughts. There are definitely a few people in this cast who have experience behind a microphone, most notably Kevin Michael Richardson. However, many of them do not. You don’t need Chris Pratt to sell a Mario movie. There’s no reason Charles Martinet can’t play Mario and Luigi. There are so many career

Hollywood has so many Chrises and they pick him. But Charlie Day as Luigi is just crazy enough to work.

You know what this also reminds me of? The Nightly Show, which died too early a death. One of the best parts of that show was the panel, which elevated voices you don’t see enough on TV.

I mean, saying they don’t take public money, that’s a bit complicated. Under the most recent law, from my cursory understanding, the Sovereign Grant is paid out as a portion of Crown Estate revenue but the pandemic caused a drop in rental revenue that forced HM Treasury, under the law, to make up the difference. And

This sort of thing is apparently convention and the judge said it’s to protect the dignity of the Queen, but the royal family as an institution has been tarnished for a long time now and that can’t be ignored. Prince Andrew is just the latest example.

Anything involving The Wire.

The rub is this is material he wasn’t even supposed to have anymore.

This whole saga just bums me out, man.
