I agree. Many of those who are condemning law enforcement in this instance get pissed off when they find that businesses are flouting environmental laws. If you vote for a government with a strong EPA or FDA, you can’t complain if these regulations occasionally seem burdensome.

Why can’t you understand that when a well-intentioned sheriff uses cultural slang that doesn’t conform 100% to our standards, it makes him just as dangerous as the serial killer who murdered seven people and raped a 14 year old girl!

Were you more angered by the fact that she was held in a cage for two months and faced certain death, or that the officers who discovered her and saved her life perhaps used cultural and regional slang that didn’t quite conform to your standards?

Of course! It’s not enough to expect officers to find and rescue a woman from a cage where she faced certain death. They’re also required not to use language that adheres 100% to what some of the readers here deem appropriate. Cultural and regional slang be damned.

Just another example of the patriarchy inherent in our “kidnapping culture.”

We sure as shit hope so. The problem is that even Nate Silver cannot predict with complete accuracy how many Trump supporters hate the media so much that they refuse to participate in polls. Or, how many Democrats who are afraid to admit it will tell their friends they are voting for Hillary and then pull the lever

Why not? What if the person being a complete asshole to you never gets reported and winds up becoming a supervisor who fucks with his/her employees? If I report that person, I’m not firing them; I am allowing their supervisor to give them a warning so that they can change their behavior.

Agreed- I certainly don’t care if a service worker is particularly friendly or not- I just want to be able to get in and buy my groceries without anyone telling me to hurry up or otherwise being hostile. That’s all.

If I went into a business and someone were openly hostile to me, I’d report them. If you’re in a bad mood, that’s fine, but don’t rope me into it.

There’s one guy I know who supported Ron Paul, even with all the evidence that he was palling around with, dog whistling to, and earning the support of known white Supremacists and alt right members like Don Black, David Duke, Alex Jones, etc. He’s really, really fucking embarrassed now.

Breitbart is the alt right, not Liberty University. Milo Yiannapolis is currently their star and has done a fairly good job innoculating them from this charge.

If I heard about a person named Drew Dickens, I’d immediately think it was a guy, simply because I loved reading Dickens as a kid and the stories about young waifs adrift in 1800's London are etched in my mind. Faust has only ever been associated with a man who trucked with the devil; it’s a rare name. Perhaps don’t

a parody of a member of the alt right dressed in blackface?

She gets a free pass because Jezebel is a left leaning, feminist website.

I’ve always felt that Stein would be way more dangerous than Trump for this exact reason. With Trump, you get a cross between Putin and Berlusconi. With Stein, you get a cross between Maduro and Mugabe.

Apparently, Trump’s also been endorsed by this guy, the David Duke of Russia, who’s considered Putin’s Rasputin.

Yes.

No, it’s pretty standard.

Apathy is a big problem in situations like these.

It’s okay. Many posters took my post the opposite way that I had intended- I suppose I wasn’t clear enough.
