    Followed by, “you’re fat/ugly/stupid/drama queen/a cunt/SJW/the real racist,” for calling out their BS.

    So, male sexual fantasy = art (Last Tango in Paris, Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart, Eyes Wide Shut, Body Heat).

    Most of this nonsense about “gym bodies” and “unrealistic standards” is annoyance about men being annoyed that women are objectifying them as opposed to the other way around. You’ve had CENTURIES to look at unrealistically hot female bodies, dudes. Give us the past couple of years.

    Yes - I do wonder if a large amount of this discussion can be summed up as “the female gaze makes men uncomfortable.”

    Shout out to Judith Merkle Riley’s The Serpent Garden which I read 1000x in h.s. It’s about a female miniature portrait painter for Henry VII’s court. Lush.
