One of my favorite things about the Magicians is how they’ve circumvented the normal approach to characters (which apparently was done in the books too). So Elliot and Margo acted like the snarky sidecharacter to begin with and ended up having an immense arc. Julia started as the wildcard while Alice looked to be the

1 positive: they’ve used 2 Francis and the Lights songs in the last 2 episodes and they are both amazing and actually worked well with the scenes.

Right before that Jonah moment with the text was the most confusing scene with Leslie and her minion at the Church.. were they in front of a green screen? She seemed superimposed into a bad 3d picture of the Church and as you mentioned right after it is the scene with Jonah that has weird flashback-y flares/glares

The one thing I would disagree about is that you seem to put an insane amount of weight to the death threat or the general asshole behaviour displayed in the first part of the episode by Ian.

Think Inhumans, the quick rework of Antman, the quick jump from Iron Fist to Defenders and the problems that caused) show Marvel is still at risk of rushing through with their plan first instead of focussing on substance first and foremost.

This episode got me incredibly excited! I actually didn’t see the ending coming because I was sure Fitz was only gonna be back in the next episode. I really wanted more Mack and even though I got bored halfway through as I realised where it was going - they did stick the landing and I’m happy to see his and Yo-Yo

Lot of people colour correct in their gifs which makes it even more stupid that the show itself can’t figure out how to shoot “grim” without meaning “badly lit”

It’s such a struggle not to watch this but I am trying to persevere, good luck to all of you trying to do the same!

Hahahahaha, how is calling someone a whore the same as calling them a Becky?

I took my cue from the reviewer but you’re right - she is actually Jamaican.

The reviewers whole point is that even IF the show is trying to say that “what you want might not always be what you need” it is IDIOTIC to be making this point with an Afro-latina single mom from the projects.

It was this episode that made me realize my actual problem with the show; the show both goes overboard with the references and style choices and at the same time assumes we’re too dumb to get them so explains basic ass references.

but for real, not surprising for an abuse victim. I’m more annoyed they are sorta blaming it on the brain cancer.

I had the same problem, even knowing who both are.

His tv show is still to be released, is gonna be animated, an origin story and on CW Seed.

I think the problem is AVClub didn’t decide to do a disclaimer in bold (which they’ve used for other shows that have random episodes or refer to content available elsewhere) so all of these writers were forced to shoehorn a disclaimer in the text. And all of these look exactly the same, might as well skip the first 4

The guy playing Jefferson Jackson has generally not been challenged by LoT but did some good work in some episodes but this was a incredibly sad attempt at acting. I couldn’t even look at it half of the times.

I think it’s because there’s no connection between her and the people she’s threatening as almost everyone Kara has an emotional connection with, is on her own Earth (I thought her argument with Alex worked for example)

That was my first thought too but I might have crypto on the brain because legal academia is obsessed about it rightnow (mining is currently using as much electricity as the annual use of around 151 countries)

The Diggle-Oliver convo is another example of something Arrow is riddled with: pacing determined by how they want to fill episodes not by the story. The conversation really should’ve happened before Diggle became Green Arrow or even instead of the light version of this convo that came after he was Arrow. But because
