Lol, Our Flag Means Death intended that to be romantic since the start?

I read this, immediately went to find the show and enjoyed it very much.
Oh so at some point Nikki (looks to be) making eye contact with “the viewers” and another point she seems to be laughing at Jen’s 4th wall break which means the rumour mill online has been she’s a witch, she’s the secret baddie etc etc.
Oh yeah I just didn’t see it in the review so I wanted to point it out
- Wakanda being isolationist means he couldn’t have studied abroad there
She also basically became Cousineau in how he imploded his career. Which kinda becomes circular with Barry and Cousineau’s relationship.
And Steven’s shitty boss Donna was one of the people watching Tomb Buster
Funny enough in the past season I was watching it next to Succession for the first time and I thought of TMS favourably compared to Succession. Succession had absolutely nothing happen for ages, endless insane metaphors to the point that after several lines “monologues” I literally yelled to my screen “ wHAT THE F”
Is the AVclub at some point gonna interview every single actor on Ted Lasso and The Morning Show (i suggest interviewing the kid who plays Alex Levy’s daughter on The Morning Show)
To their defense, I’ve heard trauma bonding misused in this way almost every? time I’ve ever heard people use the term.
I was thinking about this all week and then I remembered the two shows I had this with: Steven Universe and Derry Girls. For Steven Universe I just saw the pastel bright animation and thought nope. The animation I generally prefer is comedic (in anime too) not “animation that is kid-friendly but also enjoyable by…
Wunderkind is an actual phrase used outside of German language. Wonder kid isn’t, it’s like if schadenfreude had a literal translation in English.
I found the show insanely good this season - with some really glaring faults. They really kept up the absurdity without it being Trumpian absurdity (which is exhausting) and I found their work to move past the loss of two leads in the beginning very well done. At the same time there were some rather obvious missteps.
I didn’t like the Office for much of the same reason, I will say I did fall in love with Superstore because the jokes do get less hateful and more fun.
That list of season finales you had to review is the stuff of nightmares. I think the only other really bad one to add to your collection would’ve been Dexter, in terms of shows that ended in a sad state.
It’s easy to reinterpret it now but people had lost interest in his work since Age of Ultron. That’s when his old bonafides no longer worked to dispell all criticism.
I was gonna say the same, I’m really happy the clear AOC clone went into a completely different direction because them just “having” an AOC clone who what? runs for presidency? seems stupid.
I feel like 1. The writer is saying that people relate to different characters for different reasons 2. Thats fine 3. Until you chose to ignore what your behavior around that character says about you / reinforces in terms of real world application and 4. Have to undertake mental gymnastics just to keep your beloved…
People read it as she“ends up alone like she said Annalise would’ve” but I was discussing it with a friend and she, like me, saw Michaela having her own family and getting to be a judge as a good ending.
Alfie Enoch is half Brazilian and is fluent in Portugese, I thought his accent work was better than his American accent tbh
