I initially thought the poster in the header was Pan’s Labyrinth

My kid and her friend went as Ruby and Sapphire. Bummed we didn’t see Garnet, would’ve been a cool pic.

Does this do anything to help with having 30+ wireless networks from neighboring apartments overlapping with each other?

Doctor Who is a kid’s show. The target audience base is cyclical.  If the show gets too convoluted and too far up its own ass in lore and callbacks it puts off younger viewers. The complexity will go up over the next few seasons to keep the interest level and then the cycle will start over.

I don’t see this happening. Imax recently threw in with DTS, probably as a way to push back against Dolby getting into branded theaters. All of the streaming services use DD+ or DD+ with Atmos for audio and that is unlikely to change as DTS doesn’t have a comparable streaming friendly audio format.  I don’t see

This is all just part of the backstory to set up Android 10 for being a major update. Pie is the Windows 8 equivalent, a bunch of questionable design choices over what would otherwise be boring incremental improvements.  Even the name is bad.  All so that when Android 10 comes out people will rave about how much of an

I’m glad they finally figured out that klingons without hair are shit.

I love the ocean but it is death. Not the abstract, run out of air death of space, because how the fuck do you even get there. The death offered by the ocean is right there. You can swim out to it. You can let it fill your lungs and bring you under. The ocean pulls at you with its current and envelops you with its

They didn’t have an actual company registered in Canada and the name used for the account (who the creators said was merely an investor) has been linked to a company with tax fraud problems.  When things turned downhill they gave a last gasp attempt at convincing backers not to drop while two thirds of the team

Other than the Trek them, Star Trek: Ascendancy is nothing like Adventures.  Ascendancy is 4X competitive strategy game that can get quite backstabby with more than 2 players.  I don’t see it going over well with an RPG focused group.

There’s also Betrayal Legacy which is due out soon and has received a lot of hype.

What’s odd about Dazed and Confused for me is that even though I went to school a decade after the time period it’s set in, the setting feels closer to what my high school was like than any of the other movies you mentioned.  I felt the nostalgia and then I felt bad because of how backwards my school was.

It’s as if Atari looked at the Nvidia Shield and thought “how do we make this more like the Ouya”

What a difference having a PR department makes.

Surprised Subsonic isn’t on the list. It handles large libraries really well, is easy to access via phone or web app, and even has a radio option that will stream similar artists to one you select.

They exist. I spotted one on the highway last weekend. Had an IH8NYR license plate, which pretty much epitomizes what it means to be an Islanders fan.

If its one on each side it isn’t too bad. Pretty much 2 on 2 with some extra obstacles.

I love snow day and don’t get why the pool of players is so small.  Might be going back to it for a while as the flood of rookies will make regular casual even more mismatched than usual.

Takenoko is another good choice for competitive late elementary/middle school games. Cute design and lots of different strategies. Lords of Waterdeep and Champions of Midgard are worker placement type games that could also work well.

As a game for grade school kids? For currently crowdfunding games, Legend of Korra would be a better option, or maybe Wander.
