That would also be a great way of dealing with these big budget series.  It’s not like they have to green light a 22 episode season.

I agree, the huge gaps between seasons does not help keep viewers; however, these gaps seem to be due to networks, mostly, renewing shows one season at a time vs. calling for 3+ seasons like they did with GoT (at least to start). This would also lead to writers rushing to get scripts finished instead of working on…
