Like I said I’d have to go back and recheck. I could’ve sworn he used Longclaw to defend himself, but that wouldn’t make sense since that’s the event that Papa Mormont gave him Longclaw for in the first place.

I never did think about it until your post, but didn’t Jon (both book and show) cut through an undead with Longclaw back in Book/Season 1 or am I mistake? This might have some implications, if the White Walkers are only affected but their army is not.
That was always a reality though. They saw the dead rise a number of times even before then. The Night’s Watch were slaughtered at the Fist of the First Men almost entirely by the undead. All this did was create a nice little prelude to what will happen to the folks South of the Wall should they ever get that far.
WHAT IS THE THEORY
That line of thinking has worked, largely. The problem is is that the MCU has really done well by their characters, growing them and shaping them in the bubble of the movie-verse. GoT, by comparison, feels scatter shot in terms of quality. For every really good episode, there’s 2 or 3 episodes of just build up that…
I think they did. Boy did they ever. Nothing says “fuck the books” like killing off one of the more interesting characters from a particular plot thread.
I wanted more Bronn. I did not know I wanted how wrong I was.
Arya’s Bravos stuff is compelling, but not nearly as compelling as how it’s depicted in the books. That’s the big problem that I described above - it all feels like stalling for stalling’s sake, as opposed to actually giving us insight into Arya. Hardhome, while a really cool sequence, hardly tells us anything we…
As a book fan begrudgingly watching Season Six out of spite, I am supremely happy with this season so far. The show feels a lot more deliberate now than it did in the last two seasons, where it felt like it was stalling itself to wait for GRRM. Now it feels like a show again, where each episode provides insights and…
I’ll finally be jumping into NG+ for Dark Souls 3. I’ve spent enough time farming areas and getting the items that I suspected were around. Time to go back around and actually do the NPC stuff now that I know roughly what to do!
1) This is a mod, meaning you have to actually go out there into the void, find it, download it, install it, and then engage with it. If that’s your sort of thing, then have at it.
In ConcernedApe’s latest post to the community I believe he did mention an update coming up in the future that featured “automation”, whether that means robots or not is anyone’s guess.
Why are people so damn hateful? Maybe I’m just an adult now (whatever THAT means) because I just don’t really care. COD was never my thing and I learned that back in the Modern Warfare days. The trailers and games come and go and nary a worry comes to my mind. If the game really doesn’t appeal to you, move on.…
This makes so much sense with the vats system, it’s incredible. You can even keep the AP system, just match the meter to how many steps you take or bullets fired and there you go. What a great idea, I hope someone gets on this for Fallout 4.
A smattering of Dark Souls 3, with a healthy helping of FFIX. It was the only Final Fantasy I never really delved into (outside of seeing friends play at it a bit at their houses when i was a wee lad). I’m about an hour in and it’s alright - it reminds me a bit of that classic Final Fantasy adventure/charm, which is…
It’s the summoned help for bosses/areas. People can leave signs in an area, get summoned into someone else’s game/world and they help defeat the boss/invader/area enemies. Basically MP.
Looks like the standard longsword. I also use the longsword as my go-to weapon for a first play through on any dark souls. You get it early (or at the beginning), it scales pretty evenly across states and it’s always buffable with a reliable move set. I use it mainly to play the game, see what the other weapons are…
What? These characters are all going through their own journeys in widely different cultures, religions and political structures. It makes not only for good world-building, something pivotal to the Game of Thrones universe, but it helps us learn more about these characters invidivually. Jamie Lannister, who would have…
The enemy variety is great. So many WTF moments because these things just pop up, usually in some ambush, and just thwomp you to death.
Good to know. I’m on PC, so I’m more probable to run into a cheater, but I’ll give it a shot anyways. I have some time tomorrow night, I’ll hop back into the DZ. Happy hunting!
