Rogue was probably my favorite of the America’s set of games. Black Flag was a lot of fun but was really missing a lot of the story beats that I liked about the previous games. I really do enjoy the modern stuff and the sort of cliche melodrama that drives the assassins in one direction or another.

This stuff scares the ever-living piss out of me. I thought that science had this argument down PAT...but people will always amaze me.

Agree with this 100%. Like you, I don’t do well with the crucible or the matchmaking systems simply because it’s not the environment that I’m used to. With the Halo series there was always a pretty strong single player that kept me going on but Destiny just doesn’t have that. The missions are too short, too similar,

Yes to this and, as a guy who bought destiny near launch and got the season pass because I really liked playing it, I’m so done with this game. The way they are handling The Taken King makes me really upset and now this sort of corporate nonsense is ridiculous. I felt cheated on the vanilla content and the Dark Below

I get what you’re saying and I sympathize wholeheartedly, but I don’t read/watch this series to have a feel good time. There are a variety of other fantasy novels for you if that is what you’re looking for.

I’ve never been one to “marathon” a game. I usually play games to get involved in the world, and I usually like to play in chunks in order to process the narrative and the world-building. Skyrim was a pain to get through for that reason, but I enjoyed taking it quest by quest to get some breaks.

I always have a character in elder scrolls games called “The Pants Bandit” who has a property just filled with the pants of victims, whether they be dead or alive. My waterfront property in oblivion would glitch out everytime I opened the door it was so filled with pants.

Very cool story, thank you for sharing it with us! I’m going to have to look up that video of the guy conducting the scene. It sounds really funny! That sounds like an achievement opportunity that could have been made, in hindsight.

As a huge fan of the games listed above under your credentials, how do you, from a sound design/music perspective, create the atmosphere for a game? How much involvement did you have with the audio team to ensure this and what sort of things did you describe to them in order to get the intended result?

I totally understand your point, and I think in the hands of a trained handgun user (ala Police Officer/Military/Etc.) than Yes, a concealed weapon can make the difference in saving a life. But that's why we have trained people like Police/Military/Etc. to take care of these safety measures. Even in the middle ages,

I feel the same way. I want to buy either a PS4 or Xbox One but nothing about either system's IP's are screaming "GET IT". My 360 is still perfectly serviceable and is still getting a lot of the same games. Sure the graphics aren't as polished, but I never cared about that in the first place. I want to see gaming

I think it's important to remember that game-time is not always indicative of quality. Intention with time in mind is a completely different matter.

To me it points to a much larger trend in technology beating out the innovation of creativity. In the past, in terms of most art mediums, new techniques worked parallel or in tandem to creative design. From a musician's standpoint, as instruments became more and more technical over time composers were able to

I honestly don't think it's always the parents' fault. In many cases it is, whether it be neglect or negligence or what have you, but it's easy to just write off parents as the problem when teenagers have an equal amount of blame when it comes to that sort of decision. This is why we have juvenile detention

I read all of this and understand the sentiment that "asshole teenagers are still assholes", but I can't help but ask the question "What about the parents?" If a person is under 18, they are under the legal liability of some adult in their life. What happens to them? Are they held accountable for this behavior or is

I loved the tell tale games and, with the exception of the Borderlands offshoot, have bought every single season thus far since Walking Dead S.1. The only real bugs I've found were in the 360 versions of Game of Thrones where audio would enter in far too late for character animations and half the dialogue would get

I bought DS II on release and loved it. I thought the mechanics over all served for a better game, even if the story behind it was really just heightened fan fiction I could have sworn I read on reddit somewhere before.

i still throw in the cartridge every once in awhile to play through this game. More than any other game, actually. For all the reasons listed above, and some more personal, the story of Majora's Mask really resonated with me as a kid.

This makes me very sad. Dragon's Dogma was one of my favorite games of last generation. Still is in my top ten, actually. Loved the really fun combat, the ability to hack away at larger than life monsters and, even though they talk way too much, the pawn system was a really novel idea at the time. Dark Arisen just

I never liked MMORPGs...I tried WoW when it originally came out and HATED the grind. Since then I've tried the various iterations of WoW and Old Republic, Tera, etc. etc. and still hated killing the same five or six dudes. It was all tedious.
