Also, the impact driver is a notably shallower tool, so it’ll fit into a lot tighter places than the drill will. That’s relevant way more often than you’d think!

They’d be even more apropos if the vehicle in question were a Comanche pickup...

143+/- is right. Others have pointed out, and rightly so, that you really have to take into account the weight (or lack thereof) when you think about that. I have an 84 944 that weighs 2830 lbs with all fluids including a full tank of gas. No, it’s not a fast car, but it can be quick, and the lack of weight definitely

I think it’s just like music, honestly- there’s a bunch of crap on the market now, and there was a bunch of crap on the market back in the 70s, 80s, 90s, etc. But what’s actually survived in our minds from each decade is what we end up using for our comparisons. The farther back you go, the less you remember the

Porsche 944. NA, Turbo, S2, S2 Cab, doesn’t matter. They’re all awesome. Just don’t get an auto.

This statement could be applied to my entire car, honestly. God help anyone that tries to drive someone else’s project.

Yup, it’s on all Porsche 944s. Takes some getting used to, and makes me feel like a complete idiot when I drive my wife’s mk4 Golf. Instinctively reach for the parking brake on the left, end up with my head in the headliner after pulling on the seat height ratchet...

It’s only necessary if you’re an asshole.

Also, my wife has sort of sidestepped into these games, so we’ve not delved into the more ‘technical’ and involved games yet- Pandemic is the most ‘rulesy’ of the bunch, but the rest of them I’d feel more than comfortable introducing to new players that aren’t necessarily into board games.

My wife and I basically have the requirement that it has to be playable and *fun* with only 2 players in order for us to actually buy it (until our kids get old enough to play these games... so very close!). As such, here are a few of our favorites (not saying these aren’t necessarily more fun w/ 3+, but they’re still

Are there any of these starters that can just trickle charge from the car while it’s running? For a daily (or semi-daily) driver, that would seem like a no-brainer solution to keeping yourself covered.

Yup, Pandemic is a bit ‘fussy’ for newbies. A much better game for the list in my experience would be Forbidden Island. Very similar game mechanics, but nowhere near as intimidating or rules-heavy. It’s also a lot easier to explain and play with younger children.

Huh. Sounds like it’s worth another try, then. Thanks. :)

There are a handful of scenarios where you can get a full replacement housing- for Porsche 944s and a variety of Jeeps (weird combination, right?) that use 7" round headlight enclosures, I’ve seen LED units that are a drop-in replacement.

Have the SilverStars gotten any better about lifespan? I loved the light when I tried them about 10 years ago, but they seemed to burn out in about 6 months without fail. I’m all for better light, but not at a 50% price markup and roughly 40% of the lifespan...

I think the turbo is due for a jump any minute now. Invariably it’ll be right before I actually come up with the cash to pick one up...

My wife teaches French Horn lessons out of a studio in our house... I swear, it’s the only reason the dining room and living room stay presentable virtually all the time...

Seems true of virtually every car, or at least the German ones... Heard the exact same about BMWs and Porsches.

Yup, that crazy feel of the boost kicking in a moment *after* putting the pedal down, and the awesome sounds including the blowoff valve... Those are the things I loved most about the 944 Turbo.
