Why does Komo seem to be at the heart of this? It’s one of my local affiliates I don’t really bother with now but I could have sworn that they were singled out in Last Week Tonight for banishing some of the must air segments to the early morning/late night. That said, being Seattle I wouldn’t be surprised if there

The ad campaign for this seemed weird since it was so text heavy, I get the epistolary vibe of it but there’s something sort of chaste and winking about “coming out (whenever the release date of this was [why did the review go up way before wide release anyway?])” or “where’s (local gayborhood), asking for a friend.”

Miles and her friend were crossing the street when a woman claims she had a seizure while driving and hit about five pedestrians— including the pregnant Miles— killing Miles’ four year old and her friend’s one year old.

I adore Here Lies Love, his collaboration with Fatboy Slim, and it has a legitimately mindboggling array of female talent contributing to it. (What other album has Florence Welch, St Vincent, Cyndi Lauper, and Sharon Jones or Santigold?) That said, with something like 16 brilliant female vocalists I found it pretty

Slade did direct a good portion of the episodes after they collaborated on Hannibal so that seems fair.

Since it’s an anthology series couldn’t they go with a bunch of freelancers, a writer’s room, or something rather than the Charlie Brooker-early Black Mirror route?

Roughly how big was the budget for the first season as prestige cable shows go? I did get a sense the show went bigger and grander in some places more than it necessarily needed to (e.g. Jack’s crocodile bar which came off divey in my head but ended up being ambitiously kitschy with a giant 20 foot-ish crocodile head

I actually don’t mind Chase having an additional skill, I just wish he were more openly rebellious. It’s an angle at least, that Chase is into a subject but doesn’t want to openly pursue his father’s expertise.

Did you ever get into the Gillen run of Young Avengers? He tends to be very formalist in ways that don’t always come across to me as a reader but I did like his stealth mostly LGBT team stuff and he really rehabilitated the Miss America Chavez character. (I’ve only read an issue of her solo title though and don’t know

They also seemed to suggest the memory erasing serum the Yorkes were developing was used on Karolina’s dad (forget if on purpose or accident) and he hasn’t been the same since.

It’s slightly horrifying that despite growing up with the comics that I was constantly distracted by how attractive I found Robert Minoru and there’s some chance I’m probably closer to the parents’ age than the show’s target demo.

They did cast someone who’s 14 now and I’m a little fuzzy on her intended age but in any case she doesn’t really read as all that much younger than the others (despite how in Sulkin’s case he seems at least early 20s).

I’m not sure if the universe is punishing me but you guys got my hopes up— the premiering information at the top of the article says it premieres today/Monday, but the banner on Hulu says the 21st. (Either way is better than when I thought it was on Thanksgiving but it’s still somewhat disappointing).

I think the joke was that Paula was so dismissive to this invisible presence they deemed overbearing multiple times, and then the pay off was supposed to be when the rich family was just as dismissive to someone with a similar name just trying to do her job. I don’t think we were necessarily meant to draw class

I’m vaguely surprised how multiracial this cast is, but is this seriously the biggest role Steven Yeun gets? On the one hand it is awesome he gets to headline a film also starring Oprah, technically, this also seems terrible and I guess is the reason I’ve seen Christmas stuff on store shelves what feels like months

Is that thing still happening? He still seems to live in the mobile house or trailer thing his dad had though I may not have been paying attention to set layouts. It would be weird his foster family was down with a gang abandoning a dog in their ward’s room in the middle of the night?

Melody did get one line about cheese fries when they unceremoniously wrote out the one who went out with Archie so they had an excuse to invite Cheryl.

I was okay with that actually, i’m not even certain some of the other recurring characters got speaking lines before being unceremonially written back out of the movie.

I thought it was implicit that Cheryl was shadowing Betty and Kevin as revenge since she wanted to isolate Betty from her allies as payback?

It’s her cameo in Not Another Teen Movie, which I actually remember liking a fair bit at the time. It’s in the Scary Movie vein but with a little more earnestness and it’s essentially She’s All That (with a bunch of other subplots) but actually done much better.
