A base Golf is still a fun car. They have a nicer pedal feel and roll on acceleration than you’d expect. I had one back in 2009, when I couldn’t really afford nice stuff. But a base Golf was a good car then, and it was a nice car. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t fast, but I did enjoy it on the curvy back roads of

Maybe the trope of “couldn’t afford a 911" was relevant when Porsche first released the Boxster in 1996. But in 2020 when a new boxster/cayman can easily reach $100,000 and there’s a spectrum of used 911's and Boxsters to choose from at price points nearly anyone can afford, it’s time to stop with this nonsense. I’m

I think one of the main problems with the current Beetle is how VW chose to price them. The Beetle should have been to VW what the Mirage is to Mitsubishi.

First car was an ‘85 Nissan Maxima, metallic brown, with dark brown leather. Automatic, door-is-a-jar voice feedback, everything. Dad bought it for me when I had an unusual bout of pragmatism, and suggested that the ‘73 240z we restored and he surprised me with wouldn’t be the best first car to drive in the winter of

Holy shit man, I hope you saved some pussy for the rest of us.

But it’s not evil. It’s a quirky and weird car in a market that’s cruel to the quirky and weird. It wasn’t to my taste, necessarily, though I think a convertible would be fun to have if I lived near a beach, but I liked that VW tried to make something fun and funky.

Its sad that these are college courses when it should be taught every year from grade 7 forward ...

Did VW run out of turbonium?

This one hurts...the current Beetle is a wonderful car. Few “enthusiasts” gave it a chance simply because VW didn’t try to completely recreate the Type 1...but by creating a water cooled, FWD Beetle you could keep it affordable to the masses, just as the original intended to do. Did our part and bought 2 new.

All y’all can suck it. Because this was the only way to get a good-looking Golf in coupe form in the States for some time. And one of the only liftback coupes left, as well. Everybody here bitches about boring cars, then cheers when someone kills off a weird, interesting car that could have just been a commuter. Boo.

Its straining as hard as it can, but it just cant seem to accelerate swiftly.

Finally, somebody said it. Nobody cares about your struggles. Maybe don’t live in the antarctic.

Can you wake up from the past decade? There are no significant worries today.
