The Beetle. Make it affordable, put the batteries in the back, make it rear wheel drive then profit.

I actually have done just that. I have a base 2016 Golf with a manual and the 1.8T. A $650 tune took it from 170HP to 242HP on 91 gas. It has tons of space and is actually fun to drive. My toy car is a Boxster. While I’d love a Golf R, the base car does what I need it to do at about 1/3 the price R’s were going…
New Beetles were from 97-2010. Starting 2012 to now, they were just Beetles. For whatever reason there were no 2011s.
That guy IS Aaron Paul.
If you mean the silver in the vent openings (or whatever they’re called) I think it’s just discolouration from age. My 97 Boxster is exactly the same.
One more that no one will ever see since I’m in the greys... Everyone hates on them, but they’re fun and definitely stand out. Plus it's a GTI in clown car clothes.
A 97-99 Boxster. 201 horsepower, terrific sounding engine and the earlier cars had a more robust IMS bearing than the 2000+ cars did. Has plenty of room with two trunks too. I love mine.
I think one of the main problems with the current Beetle is how VW chose to price them. The Beetle should have been to VW what the Mirage is to Mitsubishi.
I just gotta say, it's a pet peeve of mine when a car is for sale and pictured with something that the seller says is an extra cost. If the car doesn't come with those wheels at the price you're asking, then don't leave them on the car for the pictures.
I have one of these and it has been a fantastic car. NP for me. Also the earlier cars (97-99) have a more robust single row IMS bearing than the later cars. If it hasn't blown up yet, it probably isn't going to.
I’ll probably never make it out of the greys for anyone to see this, but I sold that car to that fellow. I owned it for about 15 years and got it to where it was. Terribly sad story; I’m glad they were able to raise so much money for the kids. I loved that car.
Honest question. Is there that great a price differential between this and a 986?Wouldn't the Boxster be the better car in every conceivable way?
I inadvertently bought an orange 2003 convertible turbo with a manual. I had no intention of keeping the car and ended up loving it. Drove it for 2 years and sold it. I missed it as soon as it drove away. I plan on buying a new one as 2018 is the last year for them.
I recently sold my Beetle and had the strangest trade offer I’ve ever had in all my years selling things. A guy offered to trade an entire collection of Playboy magazines from the very beginning. He claimed the collection was worth 10 grand.
Please for the love of god give it 3 pedals...
2003 New Beetle Turbo ‘vert with a 5-Speed Manual. I’m a pretty big dude and was not in any way shape or form looking to buy one of these. I was perusing Kijiji (in Canuckistan) as one does and saw this guy for sale in wine country where my wife and I love to visit every year. Found out it was an original owner, low…
What he (or she) said. And if it had 3 pedals, I’d buy a backup one for when the first one died.
