Not surprising (though still sad). Good on her for getting help and being open about it.
Tina and Seth were head writers when they took the anchor role, as is Jost and Che. The last cast member given a WU chair was ... Cecily Strong!
She’s good in The New Mutants (most of the cast are actually), but it is not a very good movie. (I may be biased as a huge fan of the original comics, but I watched it with my daughters (who have seen all the X-Men movies except Logan) and they weren’t too impressed either.)
Cecily Strong for the win. For everything. She is the best!!
Yep. Cecily Strong said goodbye “her way”. And it was as touching as it was sad. She and Keenan are the all-purpose utility players on this team. Either one departing is going to leave a big unfillable hole. But I fear this is it.
well, people are saying that now. and....yeh, it worked for her. the whole vogue and truth or dare era was phenomenal for her.
The idea the including and presenting gays was an opportunity 30 years ago is, uh, an interesting notion.
Cecily Strong’s “My Way” absolutely felt like an exit moment.
i guess because she was presenting the same images 30 years ago, but the passage of time has revised it from being groundbreaking to being opportunistic.
I’m not sure why you need to shit on Madonna to point out that Lil Nas X is killing it.
Been a long time coming for this. No Need for any gay dudes to sublimate with fucking Madonna and claim she’s one of us. This dude gets it! And his totally JOY is testament!! thank you for that! it was unbelievably moving for me.
This was a surprisingly good episode. Anya Taylor-Joy was a fantastic host, and I have only ever seen her in The VVitch (which was really good, btw) so I had no expectations. But she is a stunningly beautiful woman that has impeccable comic timing so SNL should just start booking her for every season now. (Alternate…
This was a genuinely delightful episode all around, in a way that I can only hope SNL will take going forward (while knowing they won’t). Lil Nas x, aka Montero, was also his own highlight in all 3 appearances too. Definitely a great way to send off the season (and potentially several cast mates? Someone said Aidy’s…
I’m pretty sure everybody under the age of 25 identifies as queer nowadays. I don’t say that mockingly either. I have 3 daughters, 1 in her early 20s, 1 teenager & 1 under 10, and it’s remarkable how these kids coming up absolutely do not give a shit about labels.
Not really wasted, since for all its dramatic intensity Mad Men was often hilariously funny. Hamm absolutely kills in the show’s comedic moments, whether his character is crying like baby on command, plowing through an important pitch while drunk off his ass, deliberately tanking a client’s dumb idea by endorsing it…
Andrea Zuckerman was pioneer in 30-somethings playing teens on the original 90210.
Yeah, you very well might be right about that- which is weird, I do like what I’ve read from Loeb (Batman: Hush in particular comes to mind).
Hopefully he’s outgrown it a bit now.
