I’ve seen people argue that they’re more original than the sequels. Much poorer storytelling for sure, but more of an attempt to do something new within the Star Wars universe. Which I do agree with.

I’m buried deep in the comments, but I did just want to say that I love this series of articles. Great work, Tom!
The stuff on Tatooine is really fun. We get to see Luke be a badass and the whole gang is there. On Endor the chase on the speeder bikes is fantastic.
I could see him just voting for Leslie.
Thanks for the tip. Just downloaded the first few episodes.
I actually thought Alec was directing his message to his old friend Lorne. He did him a solid but he’s happy to be finally done with it.
That’s why I thought the “all from home due to Covid” episodes at the end of last season were the best the show has been in years. Each sketch was super short. So it’s one premise isn’t working for you, it’s quickly onto the next. And if one is working, it was over before they dragged it on too long and just did the…
“are you triggered?”More confused how such a gifted comedian became insufferable. Not Ricky Gervais level insufferable but getting there.
Rev. Drumwright and his followers are so incredibly brave.
He did, and the rest of the episode was often seeming to be an endorsement of Biden, but I still thought it was too cynical. It doesn’t help.
I usually love Mulaney’s stand-up, but in his monologue he said that whether you vote for Trump or Biden, it makes no difference and nothing will change. Basically, making the both sides are equally bad argument that discourages voting.
Although we saw the flashbacks as narrated by Vanth and so he could have been lying to Mando when he told his story. Unreliable narrator and all that.
Now that Disney bought Fox, I could see him playing a great Gambit (although he’s a bit old, I suppose, but could play the hell out of a character who is a rascal who may be a little cheesy but is still totally charming.)
He must’ve told them he was filming them, even if he didn’t say what the project was. As they had to agree to be filmed in a private space, and the camera isn’t hidden on his person. I think? I’m super curious, too.
That is weird. Hopefully they introduce her down the line?
Thanks for the info. Glad they asked!
The Associated Press has picked up the story as well...
The only positive thing I can say about the opening sketch is that I’m glad they seemed to have move on from basing Carrey’s comedic take on “Biden is senile” and are trying different things. They still haven’t landed on a comedic take that works but at least it’s less damaging to Biden the candidate right before this…
Bravo! Your take on Biden is already smarter and funnier than SNL’s frustrating “Biden is senile” take.
But with Reagan they did at least did a clever turn on the senile guy bit...
