For what it’s worth the term self-care started in the medical and mental health field, as a recommendation for certain patients (those with PTSD, the elderly, those recovering from certain ailments) and for medical and mental health professionals as a way to avoid burn out.

Nah, it was a great show for the first five seasons or so.

I don’t think it was meant to be a satire of “ER” even if it may have come off that way to some. It was originally based on Bill Lawrences’ close friend’s experiences as a medical intern (his friend having the initials JD even.) They also used the classic book “House of God” as an inspiration.

9pm on Thursday nights in the USA. And what also helped it was that all the execs at NBC apparently loved the show.

I think the whole show got more cartoony as it went on (as most sitcoms do), Rebecca included. Sam got dumber too, when in early years, he would just seem like he wasn’t well read but still very intelligent.
