If campaigning was banned, the people who sell ads on billboards in L.A. would lose a ton of money. There are giant “For Your Consideration” billboards all over Hollywood.

MoviePass was mocking AMC on Twitter for their new competing subscription model, and tweeted: “We want to make movies more accessible, they want more profit.”

This was really informative. Thanks for making me less ignorant.

Here’s a great list of how you can use your justified outrage to help those kids who have been separated from their parents TODAY.

The new Jurassic Park (World?) just happens to be coming out this weekend, so yes, it’s gotta be staged.

I think Ashley does, but not Albert.

“After all, there are 15 years of stories that can be told, and they’re probably not going to burn through very much in only eight episodes.”

True, but about half of them (mostly in the second half of the series,) are really not so hot. The first few story arcs are a ton of fun, though, so that should get them a few

Quite a positive review, and as per usual for Lane, a funny one. He’s the best film reviewer working and has been for years. Even when you disagree with his take, the writing itself is a pleasure to read. Lane does spoil a bit of plot, especially if he doesn’t like a movie, but that’s why I only read him after I’ve

I think this is pretty damaging to his rep. It could be career ending.

I don’t know Seattle politics whatsoever but I know in L.A. where there is a huge homelessness problem and high taxes, voters went along with higher taxes (a quarter cent sales tax) to help pay to reduce homelessness.

I think the review paints an unfair portrait of the book. From the very positive Washinton Post review...

The book is getting great reviews elsewhere and I really like Hyden’s writing (which I discovered on this site.) I like what the Washington Post review said about Hyden:

Old school! Also, as much (mostly deserved) shit at the site got for that article, Dawes themselves have some great singles (if you like that sweet Lauren Canyon sound)...

I don’t think the Ramones were trying to be “whiter”. That makes them sound anti-black. They didn’t want blues riffs and guitar solos (see Zeppelin, who were dominant at the time) as they felt they got in the way of the songs (and possibly they couldn’t play them well on speed) but they loved Doo-wop and early 60s
