I voted for the 40s. (I think I even nominated that decade/voted for it in the initial post, when you were setting everything up and deciding which decade to examine.) I do kind of believe it, but I mostly wanted the 40s to get a vote, because it really was a magnificent decade for film that gets overlooked pretty…
Positively. Also, I don't hate Subway as much as I'm generally indifferent to their food and positive toward their pro-Community stance, so this opinion may be totally invalid. (I think Firehouse is much, much better than Subway, but they're both places to get food.)
The extras are above and beyond the typically amazing classic series DVD extras. I think I was lucky enough to find the set on sale somewhere, and I'm really glad I picked it up.
I got the same error message, but the link worked in the previous comment you mentioned.
I got a rock an error message:
What's the big deal? It doesn't hurt anybody. Fuck-fuckety-fuck-fuck-fuck.
That's pretty much what I was expecting.
Also, it's not an inaccurate clue, but I don't really think of The Three Stooges as "a 1930s comedy act"—their work spanned a few decades, unlike most of the other acts mentioned as legitimate nickname possibilities.
Curly Howard wasn't really known for his curly locks, though—making the connection from a bald guy called "Curly" ironically to two people with curly hair called "Curly" because of their follicles is a bit of a leap.
MADNESS!!!!
And so, my plan to get them out of the tournament met with resounding success…you don't really think I would pull for them, surely.
A-. To me, it felt better than a B+ episode, but not quite as good as an A- level, but I've always been a generous grader, so I'll bump it up.
I always knew those Brian Dennehy movies were enough to sustain a whole network!
You're not alone, but I don't think it's a very large crowd. I still think this episode wouldn't have felt out of place in season 4.
I had almost the exact same response to "Improbable", except it didn't make me angry like some previous episodes have. This one just seemed more like a "What the hell, X-Files?" type of episode, and I guess I just got on its wavelength about midway through, and enjoyed everything up to the last "OK, that's too much"…
C-. It was fine, but it really felt like one of the purposely "lookit us bein WACKY" season 4 episodes. Then again, I wasn't crazy about the last couple episodes, either, so what do I know.
Sticking with the theme, Robert DeNiro, captain of the Caspartine?
C+. Doggone it, between this episode and the last one (which I would've given a lower grade to), I feel like a crank. This one just didn't work for me—I appreciated it, but there were too many things that just didn't come together, or make sense—it really kind of does seem like something that deserved longer, maybe…
