Are Enough Said and Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing coming back to theaters? I saw Philomena over the weekend (at a first-run theater), and mixed in with the usual trailers for stuff coming out in the next few weeks were trailers for those two movies, with "coming soon" at the end. (My first thought was that the

I'd really like to write something about Hook if there is a Round 2, but I reserve the right to remain non-committal for now.

Well, I had a hunch I wasn't missing anything with those two movies. (Though I do recall a pretty good Forgotbusters article on BDtH on that other site.)

Across the Universe was a humorless slog—there were maybe three songs I'd want to listen to again (Evan Rachel Wood's haunting, melancholy "If I Fell" taking top honors), but as a film, it was just far too full of itself. It took itself almost as seriously as Sgt. Pepper's… didn't.

I gave the robots part of "Mean Mr. Mustard"; I didn't think people could take this entry seriously if they thought the singing Cyberman rejects had more than one moment in the spotlight! Besides, I had to leave something to the imagination. But fine, twist my arm, here: enjoy, everyone. (At the risk of ruining

For what it's worth, I enjoyed Tommy, too—I recommend Sgt. Pepper's…, obviously (I'm pretty sure there's a version of the whole movie on YouTube, but I can't vouch for the quality), and like I said, if you're not a huge fan of the movie as a whole, there will almost certainly be something to enjoy in it somewhere.

Can't argue with that—it could be very, very funny when it was trying to be (and even funnier when it wasn't).

You kind of summarized this movie in three words: "weird, sometimes wonderful". I can't think of a better description for it, and I spent several paragraphs trying.

All this Lovefesting is stirring something in me, so here's a mini-bonus entry: I saw Les Miserables in the theater five times, and Russell Crowe is the best part of the movie. His version of "Stars" is hauntingly gorgeous, and by far my favorite version. Crowe imbued Javert with a humanity that is frequently

I really kind of wish I'd realized there was going to be a big Beatles anniversary happening around today. Ah well.

I'm pretty sure DJ only applies to being tried twice for the same crime, but I'm also pretty sure you described the plot of an Ashley Judd movie from the late 90s.
