Trust me, the much MUCH more entertaining camera would be trained on a new roundabout in a Midwestern city. There are two I know of here in Des Moines and it's a magical adventure every time I happen to need to drive through one.
Are you kidding? Not every intersection can be a roundabout. They have thier place (and are all over the US now), but they’re very costly to construct and maintain, and they and take up way too much space for most use-cases.
Most of those roads in Salem were laid out when the witch trials weren’t actually going on there (neighboring Danvers used to be called “Salem Village”, and they changed their town name precisely to distance themselves from their sordid history.)
I’m in the US and my town has 4 recently-built roundabouts (with 2 more on the way) and it’s been... not great. Mostly because people are idiots. It’s like they come to this unfamiliar circular piece of road and everything they know about how to drive just vanishes from their heads. Most people come to a complete stop…
