It’s a romance.  It’s not pretending to be an evocative piece of drama.  It’s meant to be fun and fluffy and steamy.  I’m all for that scene of Anthony falling in the lake.

Lets not also forget their labeling everything as practicing their religion.  They’ll argue that slavery is their religion and they should be able to ignore minimum wage laws because of their religion.  Apparently not being able to force your views on others is not being able to practice your religion.

As much as they want to demonize single mothers and poor families what they really want is more low skilled workers they can take advantage of to make themselves rich and they want to be able to push young girls into marriage and trap them there with several children and no education.
