What’s the misunderstanding between Medicaid and Medicare here? Older adults use Medicare part A for hospitalization and part B for ambulatory. Medicaid covers long-term care, but to be eligible for Aged, Blind, or Disabled (ABD) Medicaid, certain financial requirements must be met. I think that’s what the author is

And good luck getting Long Term Healthcare to pay out a nickel. My parents were both bedridden for the last 5 years of their lives and LTC wouldn’t allow them into a nursing home. My dad paid into a LTC account for them both for 30 years and got $0.00 dollars back.

I always just mow over the leaves to mulch them. 3-4 mowings in the fall for that reason and they essentially disappear.

Mulching mower. No issues.

A rake and a tarp. Rake (or blow) the leaves onto said tarp. Drag tarp to wherever is needed to remove them or you want the pile. Repeat as many times as needed. You’ll be surprised how many leaves, and how quickly, you can get done this way.

Fair enough, but we all know what the author meant and pedantism is the primary food source of trolls.

You are absolutely right.  Raking is very good for your core muscles and upper body.  I worked for a tree service for 30 years and raked a thousand yards and never once had a leaf blower.  I did wear out a steel yard rake about every month and a half.  We were expected to produce a mile of trimming every day.  We

You left out the best one - mow the leaves with a mulching lawn mower and let them fertilize your lawn.

Can you please send this article to literally every landscape maintenance company in the country the world?

The are still upset when you ruined the funeral reception.

A practical way to determine whether a shower or bath uses more water (assuming you have a shower-over-a-bathtub set up and not a free-standing shower situation): next time you take a shower, stop up the drain as if you were taking a bath. Shower normally (trying not to get distracted by the amount of water pooling at

I soap up, then run through the neighbor’s sprinkler.

Dear Jezebel,

As a Kansan, kindly fuck off. It’s a lot of fun to dismiss red states as full of idiots, but this is also a state that’s had two Democratic women elected governor since 2004 (Sebelius was re-elected and we’re hoping we can keep Laura Kelly this year too), elected a queer Native woman to the House, has a state supreme

People also forget that like 40% of the country is hourly workers who don’t have PTO/sick days.

Aside from isolating, I’m guessing that someone that tired couldn’t work for a week. That sounds worse than mild to me. I’ve never missed work for a week due to an illness in my life (unless you count maternity leave), and I’m in my 50's.

One thing that isn’t discussed enough is the role that the viral load during infection plays in the severity of symptoms. I’m certainly not qualified to talk about this in any capacity, but I’m curious (and I haven’t seen anything written about it) if there’s a difference in the severity of COVID illness based on if

I still wear a mask because I work all over my state (South Australia). I usually don’t know the people I meet (usually unmasked) or the people they’ve met.

Stay strong!  A friend of mine only recently stopped wearing his mask, and now has Covid for the first time.

It’s crazy to me that I’m the only person in my town that seems to still wear a mask.
