Yeah, and even the ship and uniform designs would be more sensible for that time period. However I think this would’ve been a great story for a post-Nemesis era.

Zack’s approach is pretty much the one I’ve adopted for this series, full time: just enjoy the ride. I have pretty much zero faith the writers will come up with a satisfying finale from all of this without some serious shenanigans, but I am still enjoying the hell out of Star Trek at max camp levels. Captain Evil

No one’s dead till you see the body. And Klingons eat it.

You know, I can totally imagine the early Federation not even thinking to put torpedoes back there. All enemies politely approach from the front, right?

Whoo! Finally found my way around Kinja burner hell.

I tried so hard to think of a famous grape character, but I couldn’t think of any. Children’s TV, you’ve failed me once again.

Dane Cook hosted SNL? Smh

When I saw that David Boreanaz had a new show, I assumed that Bones was still airing, but it had been on so long that they could just generate new episodes using footage and recorded voice from the past million seasons, freeing the actors to do other projects.

Whoever the hell this actor is, I am excited that they’re adapting John Bellairs’s novels! I loved those books!

Yeah I think you’re right actually.

I agree about The Orville, it’s a good foil for this show. Considering the Abrams treatment we’ve had for the past few years, it’s a good time to be a Trekkie.

The moment is here! And it ain’t too bad. I was convinced enough to buy into this silly streaming service for now, anyway.

Good points, but I’m curious how Orville will hold up once it has a few more episodes under its belt. If we’re comparing to the Star Trek series and went by episodes 1-2 of each one, then I’d argue TNG and DS9 were of similar quality or worse than Orville’s first two outings. Orville’s got this weird comedy goal the

This show is here to do clunky Star Trek fan fiction and make dick jokes. And they’re all out of dick jokes.

Not for nothing, but doesn’t Jon Hamm always win the game of performative masculinity by having a ginormous dick? The Trumps never had a chance.

I stopped expecting masterpieces from Stephen King works years ago.

I think that’s the point, a lame play for the middle of the Venn diagram between AHS fans and Trump supporters.

I’m not crazy about this premiere. On the nose is right-when Ryan Murphy tries to do social commentary this hard, we get The New Normal.

The long walk to Dragonpit was excellent, a good review of how far all these characters have come. But where’s my Dragonpit in the opening, hm?

"Yes, this new teleportation thing they do is absolutely working for me!"
