Not necessarily...I’ve dealt with people who made so much money that they needed serious write-offs or else forfeit funding. Wrecked cars, negative equity, etc came into play.
In 10 years in the car business, the WORST transaction I ever endured was for an open-ended (balloon) lease on a new Ferrari California. I literally stopped the customer before signing to tell him what a bad financial decision it was, just so I could have a clear conscience...he didn’t care and still bought the car.
