I’ve never really been one for fast cars, but I’ve always heard that rentals are the fastest cars I’d ever drive so maybe picking one up on the cheap would finally make sense!

Alrighty I made it all the way to episode 10 last night, can’t stop won’t stop! I now regret even more having ditched my Dodge Raider and not just gone balls out with caging and lifting it. I already have a welder and a level that makes the noise!

This has been a good time for me, wrenching-wise.

Right? $35k will buy you a hell of a 4th gen or maybe a lightly used 5th AND a ton of accessories. I love my 4R.

OK I’m going to be that grumpy old man yelling at a cloud here, but what can be done about the slideshow presentation of some articles on Jalop? It seems as though it is becoming more and more prevalent and rather than deal with the (admittedly insignificant) aggravation I will simply scroll down to the bottom of the

Damn you Bradley, I don’t need these constant distractions in my life!

Is Suburban not an option? We bought a good condition 2002 with barn doors and just over 180k miles for $3k and needed only tires.  Good lord I forgot how luuuurge those things are.

I’ll admit the last one I played was Los Santos.

Thanks for the reply. So the technology is there, all that remains is the legal aspect of it. Can the Ontario popo scan the ECU while the car is in impound and use the data taken from that scan as evidence if for some reason this kid and his father want to take this to trail? I guess by this point that kid is already

<sad trombone>

Thank you for that response.

Better that than modern 22" rims on a vintage car.

It should be longer, I think they tried to pass something similar with permanent vehicle impound in Florida back in the late 00's due to rampant street racing in Tampa & Miami but it got pretty well neutered.

So are you saying it will inform authorities of a previously used and/or disabled tune, or just the current settings?

Hey at least he doesn’t have the dork-ring behind the cassette.

For the sake of clarity, did you just go ahead and ride it with the 42c tire even though it rubs the inside of the stays? Or did you fit a narrower knobby that did have clearance?

Which begs the question: while in a Canadian police impound can the state of tune in the car be investigated? If not, once it is returned to the family could they simply take it back to a shop for a de-tune and then the argument made that it has a speed limiter and there’s no way it could possibly go that fast?

I wish I was electronically inclined. My dream would be a smart thermostat programmed to control your car, but only via voice commands.

Well said. I find myself making much of the same defense among my few friends who ride but who swear they would never ride a Harley. More diversity in the market is a good thing, I would never shop at Wal-Mart but Target would go straight to the toilet if they didn’t already have someone beneath them, so I hope WM

Point taken.
