yeah, I feel bad for "Bob". not so much for "Frank". but you work in this industry, you often sign NDAs and NDAs are there for a purpose. I used to do QA way way back when. Reviewed a ton of weird and sometimes cool things (we even did the CueCat scanner, what a fiasco) all under NDA and it would've been fun to

I'm editing an 8mp BMP image in Photoshop right now. applying multiple filters on multiple layers. It's nowhere near 1 GB, let alone 4 GB. do you do any image editing?

I don't think you're understanding the market. The PC gamer is not going to be buying this. And the console gamer will choose a less powerful PC for a higher cost because it's smaller and because it's Valve?

oh yeah, I'm still rocking the boom box...

I've built a lot of crazy machines. even used things like water cooling. name a PC in a small case that's good at gaming. you can't even fit a decent graphics card in any of the SFF.

how the heck are they going to fit PC parts in a small case? all the small case PCs are terrible gaming PCs. and if they make it small by using nonstandard, non-commodity parts, then you lose all the benefits of a PC. small is expensive. the only small that is cheap has cheap hardware.

Newell is such a blowhard. "You can make your own Steam store", as long as Valve/Steam gets their cut. It's an open system, as long as you get it through the Steam store.

I'm not sure what you're saying. I have a 4000x3000 BMP image loaded into Photoshop CS5 right now. Photoshop CS5 is showing 182MB...

what are you smoking? you can split the screen if you only have 1 monitor. and if you have multiple, you can split the apps between all of them.

you can split the screen. and there is standard UI navigation. all Windows Store apps behave similarly with a similar interface.

it says nVidia.

a 4K image is only 8 megapixels. I'm sure you've edited 8 mp pictures on your system with far less than 4 GB of RAM

for the clientele, they're targeting (who have the money), they should've put in an Core i7.

I was watching an old vid of this (the prototype) when it was at computex. in that vid, windows 8 mode is only when the AIO is docked. when it's in "free" mode, it's only Android. I wonder if the machine still has that limitation? it'd be neat if it could match up against the Lenovo AIO IdeaCentre Horizon. also,

that's a pretty slick system! best of both worlds

too many gamers apparently have no lives...

that dell is a full-fledged sized laptop. it's not meant to be the same competitor to the iPad. If you're going to compare the two, then you have to ask if you can hook up a printer or a scanner or any hardware device to the iPad. if you can run Office or enterprise-level software on the iPad. I can run full-sized

Now playing

the AMD chip is an interesting chip and could fill a void. Although it consumes more power than the Atom (Clover Trail), it's more powerful and has a much more powerful graphics card. It can actually play games that hardcore gamers play like Call of Duty. Whether people would want that in a tablet over battery life

why would I want a limited OS? I can't even hook up my scanner or printer to Android.
