Yeah, it makes more sense to just give them the money than to employ thousands and thousands of government employees to cut 45% of the taxes off the top in ops and admin spending times x number of overlapping agencies.

It boils down to simple supply and demand. There will be more demand for basic goods and services since people who could not previously afford them can. In addition, in the short term at least, there aren’t any increases in supply because the new found spending power isn’t a result of additional bodies in the work…
I prefer the idea of a universal basic income to that of “welfare.” It holds each person accountable for their decisions.
You’re hitting on what is probably one of the main critiques, that any sort of program like this almost has to be inflationary by definition. It’s the same sort of problem we run into when the minimum wage goes up, that essentially all you do is take the people that were maybe getting along a little better making just…
It suffers from Lost syndrome- raise fascinating questions but without any good payoff. The easiest way to hook viewers is to set up some riddles and questions- everyone wants to know the answer. But a good show is defined by how it answers them, and since Lost came out, there have been so many shows that did what…
If you’re getting married in MA why would you buy a cake in CO? Is it normal for couples to order wedding cakes from over 1,000 miles away?
Note to anyone who doesnt agree with someone else’s life choices: LIE! Lie your ass off. If they want a cake, tell em your schedule is full and you won’t be able to get to it in time for the wedding, then point them in the direction of another bakery. If they want photo’s tell them you have a trip planned and can’t…
You were absolutely badass if you went to Action Park and lived to tell about it.
Tommy Callahan? Big Tom Callahan’s son?
Nope! This is the worst/deadliest! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Action_Park
It teases such an interesting premise and then does some really bizarre stuff. The end of the first season is an absolute mind boggle but not in a good way.
I’ve tried to watch Sense8 no less than four times and I just can’t get through the first episode. I’m a huge fan of the genre too, I really can’t blame Netflix for cancelling it given the expense of production and the difficulty of viewers to engage.

Don’t forget, we live in a society in which we are all basically just helpless babies patronizing different institutions that are responsible for our well being.
Note that, despite being Georgia born and raised, I did not say sweet tea.
I’m not trolling here but until your comment I had no idea she was in the Fast and the Furious movies...and I saw them! I don’t mean that as an insult to her, or even those movies, I just find that surprising.
Have you been reading Jezebel for long? Skepticism = Gaslighting. Who can ever forget “‘Is the UVA Rape Story a Hoax?,’ asks idiot”?
At some point, shouldn’t some of this stuff be sniffed out by readers without needing triple checked sources? Henry Cavill receiving $14 million for Man of Steel with only The Tudors and Immortals as his prior big roles just doesn’t make sense logically and shouldn’t get past a skeptical mind.
You can be okay with my long hair without being ok with manbuns.
from my daughter, when she saw a guy with a man bun.
