What the author means is that in order to fully enjoy Rocky Horror, you need to be there interacting with it and with the rest of the audience. It doesn’t really matter if the play is live or not as long as the audience is. The closest you can come to that experience at home is either throwing a party while watching

I’m still not okay with his chest tattoo thing. This seems like such a terrible idea.

So much this!

Part of the issue is that self-reported studies are notoriously biased and pretty shabby ways to collect data. If you’re going to do a study like this on a controversial subject, you should really choose a better method of data collection and analysis.

I think it’s more a statement to the tone or level of comedy TDS now has. It’s just not great and sad considering what it once was.

This is pretty on par with his brand of humor. I’m not outraged or anything, and I definitely don’t think he wrote it, but it’s stupid and probably shouldn’t have been posted.

I actually really liked that there was no one oppressed group the whole time and it should both parties being hurt by prejudice in some way.

But it seems like many he was very careful to skirt the line and it describes books with children that are non-sexual but naked, or ones where childrens heads are placed on adult bodies to specialize them.

Yes, outing = bullying.

If they just started advocating that, they’re way behind the times. The BRICs are or were the big emerging markets.

Have you seen @LGBTphoenix? Either Trump’s campaign or a bunch of his supporters made a fake LGBT org related Twitter account to make it look like Trump has support from the LGBT community.

The main thing going through my mind is how for the past few weeks, every discussion about the bathroom laws I’ve had the misfortune of being in (because I’m trans so clearly I want to talk about it, right?) has involved someone very politely asking me why they should care about violence against such a small portion

I’m guessing that has a looooot to do with it.

Past trauma can in fact reduce one’s mental capacity to consent. The capacity to consent just from a medical perspective is one’s ability to take in relevant information and make an informed, voluntary decision. Victims of childhood sexual trauma are five times more likely to develop PTSD or other related mental

Other than the fact that they’re horrified and probably want this to go away as fast as possible, she’s a victim of severe trauma with a past history of sexual abuse, and she’s 15? This is bordering on the same logic that says, “Sure she was too drunk to keep her eyes open, but she didn’t say no, so it can’t be rape!”

It’s interesting that often times in these situations people ask, “Why didn’t she leave? It must not have been that bad or she must have wanted something out of him if she stayed!” These texts (potentially) provide a window into what mental processes go on during an (allegedly) abusive relationship. Having had abusive

I’m not a fan of the age issue either, though historically states have Romeo and Juliet laws or degrees to which they charge someone based on age, so it’s not quite as cut and dry as that thankfully.

Are you saying that they shouldn’t be held responsible because they didn’t know better, in general, or because the situation itself is fine? I realize she said it was mostly consensual, but given her past, the sheer number of guys who were apparently crowding around her, and the fact that she didn’t go into the

It’s fair to say that they’re all kids. At the same time, she’s a human trafficking victim who didn’t go into that bathroom looking to have sex, ended up crowded around by spectators/participants in a small space, and filmed. It’s possible she really wasn’t in the right mind to consent to this, and with that said,

And they totally forget the fact that she was a victim of human trafficking, for fucksake. What are the odds that she actually went into that bathroom, got into that position and thought, “Yeah this would be a swell way to spend an afternoon.”
