This often means there were one or two people holding out and everyone else wanted to go the other way. Doesn’t necessarily indicate the prosecutions case was weak at all.

First off the overwhelming number of people doing Uber or sharing economy jobs are doing it to live. Not for extras. Because our economy has failed us. You realize right now there are fewer middle class Americans than a decade ago. This new economy? It’s not working.
Lyft drivers are entirely in control of where or when they work, and this flexibility is exactly why the service is so popular with with people looking to make extra income.
Right. If it wasn’t ill intent, then what was the intent? To embarrass a young girl? To “jokingly” associate all Muslims with bombs? Is there any kind of intent in this situation that isn't gross?
This is so goddamned depressing. We have a large Islamic community in my city, and lately I’ve been trying to give every person who wears hijab an extra large smile when I pass them. It’s probably silly, but it’s one of the only things I feel that I can do (besides donating to the Dems).
The teacher said she knew her joke went too far,
“I didn’t teach my children to hate people or to think they are better than other people.” Aden said.
There needs to be an on-going segment here called, “Meanwhile, In Canada....” that helps us to keep things in perspective.
This one is my favorite:
I find that the only people who actually defend this shit are the people that never have to be on the receiving end of racial profiling. Ignorance is bliss, right?
The OP was the asshole who called the victim of the Hot Coffee case “some dumb lady” and implied that she was 100% at fault for her extensive injuries, also implying that her very real and severe injuries did not warrant the settlement she got. They deserve the responses they are getting.
Yeah I watched the HBO doc on the coffee case and it completely changed my mind. I felt like a dick for judging the lady. Those injuries were horrific.
It's easy to criticize bc it's bigoted and wrong.
Meanwhile, in Canada, our new Defense Minister is sworn in;
Maybe that’s the trick, they’re trying to lull us into a false sense of security by wearing a turban. Very crafty security guard there.
Apart from the abject stupidity of mistaking Sikhs for Muslims, and the abject stupidity of thinking all Muslims are terrorists ... I also don’t understand why the turban has become a symbol for terrorism in America when literally none of the terrorists acts here (or in France, for that matter) were performed by…
They’re racists. Lack of education has always been the problem for these turds.
Sikh and Islam are completely different religions which aren’t remotely related to each other. It’s like racists aren’t even trying to educate themselves anymore.
I’d sue their union, the pension fund, and any relatable things which would more penalize the officers then the community at large. Suing the city doesn’t hurt these scumbags.
