Good recap! Also, they’re removing mailboxes from high traffic areas without the legally required public comment period.

If giving a shit about murdered civilians abroad makes me a purity dead-ender, I’ll happily take that label, but then that would make you a soulless nihilist. Because I hope that’s as inaccurate a description of your politics as your description is of mine, let’s drop it.

Here’s a bit of positive news on that front: some House Democrats are signaling that they’ll use inherent contempt if Louis DeJoy doesn’t show up for this hearing. If there was ever a time for them to really take Trump’s goons to the mat, this is it. Let’s hope they follow through.

Ha! He was chosen as Obama’s VP to comfort a party terrified of nominating anyone other than an old white guy. As for his time on the SFRC, he was a handmaid to some of the worst excesses of American empire throughout the 90s and 00s, including championing a plan to divide Iraq into three countries by ethnicity, which

That’s how you know it’s a quality gif!

Seems they’re already working on that. As Que Syrah Syrah mentioned upthread, they’ve started (illegally) removing mail boxes from Portland and Eugene Oregon (and possibly other cities around the nation).  That will definitely have that effect.

The contortions a certain concerned Maine senator feels the need to perform on the regular, of course!

Apparently, he has filed the requisite paperwork, while publicly citing how horny he is to try and dodge more taxes:

This was deliciously brutal.

Hopefully they’ll let you back in.  I’ll try to keep an eye out for you until then.

I really super hope Harris is studying up on foreign policy, because Biden is turbo bad at it and repairing the damage from Trump is going to be one helluva mountain to climb.

Here’s hoping.  I suppose there’s something to be said for Democrats being ready to vote like their lives depend on it, when in fact securely voting is now a risk to life and limb.  What a time to be alive.

I hope you’re right about that. It’s certainly a valid point. My fear is that they’ll just do the crimes, cross their arms and say, “Yeah, we did crimes to steal the election. What are ya gonna do about it?” And then have the answer be, “Have the election get stolen, I guess?” Too many things of that nature have

Right? This is bananas! USPS can (could?) regularly get a package to me in rural New England from western Pennsylvania in three days. A similar package sent by UPS or some other private behemoth takes ten.

Yes! Never let your gaze fall from the post office! I was already fired up to post this article about the warnings from USPS in Pennsylvania and the legal battle around mail-in voting. It’s worth a read!

Now playing

I’d like to take this moment to check in on everyone living in the suburbs. Are you doing all right?

I sometimes use the term “Archboomer, because it’s got a nice double-meaning.

I think you’re quite right that there should have been more focus on the Emoluments clause and other forms of self-dealing. Pretty much everybody gets corruption. To be fair to the House democrats, though, it was also about Trump fucking with the election, which I think was a pretty good reason to open the

Though I’m sure the book will make a splash, it’s not like we didn’t already know Trump’s a real wiz when it comes to crime!
