She should have accepted, gone on stage and stood there singing her saddest song. No back up dancers, no light shows, just her bringing everyone down.

I love her even more now. Has anyone ever turned it down? And everyone is judged pretty harshly. So, you go girl, knowing what works for you and doing what is best for you. She rules!
there should not have been an offer from the prosecution in the first place, they should have been willing to go to trial. they should have cared enough to put together a good enough case to take to court so they could ensure he got a serious fucking sentence because he is obviously a predator that intentionally…
That’s the key right there; this was planned. He needs to be put down, because if you’re already this fucked in the head at 18, you’re just going to get more evil.
He’s a predator, he specifically chose this victim, he needs to be kept away from society for the safety of others. This is not a rehabilitative situation.
“Now, instead of going to trial, Fifield entered a plea to a lesser charge of assault with intent to commit serious injury, which everyone seems just fine with”
*SCREAMS FOREVER*
I’m so sick of this “this is his first offense” and “prison will do him no good” bullshit. It is really easy not to fucking rape people. Don't do it even once and no jail; do it one time and fuck you.
“Prison would not do this kid any good”
Since when are we supposed to be concerned about the ‘good’ of a rapist?
A rapist who targeted and heinously assaulted a mentally ill woman no less?
“Anyone who has a daughter should be appalled by this”
ANYONE should be appalled by this. Fuck you if you aren’t.
i’ve read that article actually, i was just kidding. poorly formed academic joke.
the men are raging egomaniacs, especially the older they are, whereas the women, regardless of generation, are normal people who doubt themselves more than the men seem to
The intention was not to “be mean.” Perhaps it wasn’t communicated that well, but I was trying to stay that this is life, we’re all flawed, and the sooner we stop taking ourselves so seriously, the better things start to get. It’s actually a healthier existence.
Ugh, please. Get over it. 43 here, and I can tell you, things don’t change all that much from 30 on. Just chill out, go with it, have a few drinks and live your life. It’s not that big of a deal.
“’No, she better not be,’ the woman said, giving Phung no real choice but to plunge back down and try again.”
I too live in California and cannot imagine ever living anywhere else. So glad we passed the “right-to-die” law. I was heartbroken watching the story of Brittany Maynard being that I am in a similar situation. Everyone deserves the ability to make choices about their own bodies and lives.
That is straight-up illegal. Sue the motherfuckers.
I was an art director/creative director for 20 years before I left for law school. I worked at several agencies that were the size and caliber of Saatchi and JWT. I can attest to how sexist the business is - and it is definitely very ‘blue’. You had to have a very thick skin and be able to ‘take it’. A couple of of my…
What’s your point here?
Thank you!
