Last year I had an accident that left me with a horrible scrape wound in my face. The doctor cave me SPF100 and told me to absolutely stay out of the sun, because if the damaged area got pigmentized I would have a life long scar. I added a big-ass sunhat and giant sunglasses just to be sure. I never stopped wearing it…

Thanks, this is my experience as well. Where I live there is this whole movement that pregnancy and giving birth shouldn’t be “medicalized”, and that you’re a bad mother if you have an epidural.
You’re totally right, of course. Just as I want to be able to get alllll the drugs when I’m giving birth, someone else should have the choice of having her baby in her own bed with no medication whatsoever. I just wanted to say that homebirths aren’t as romantic as Ricki Lake wants to make everyone believe.
