I’ve never seen someone complain about having physical knobs. Honda got rid of the volume knob years ago and got reamed in JD Power scores, so they had it again since 2016 or 2017, I think.

I know, but drive across the country and you’ll see how far behind California is. Rest stops in the middle of nothing in Wyoming and Nebraska blew me away with how clean, well lit, modern, and maintained they felt. It made CA’s look like a port a potty.
I never said it was, only that it’s more affordable than SF and slightly less than Jefferson City. I already acknowledged I should have originally written “cheaper” instead of “cheap” COL in my first post.
+1 on all California rest stops. They’re almost all wet-floored cinderblock buildings with underground septic tanks with vents blowing poo air over the crabgrass. Also the toilets look like someone won a contest for “how few times can you fold metal and make something look like a toilet”
I should have written “cheaper COL”, because my point was about relative cost. That $100K in SF, according to Nerd Wallet, would be $52K in Nashville, making it only slightly more expensive than Jefferson City, MO’s $48K.
One thing I feel gets lost in these “everybody move to tiny towns where rent is cheap!” discussions is that plenty of companies take into account your area’s cost of living when deciding on your compensation. Sure, you may make $100K in San Francisco, but that does not mean you’ll still be making that same amount in…
Yet another generation of disappointment that Google just doesn’t want to make reasonably sized (sub 6") phones anymore. I guess I’ll cross my fingers for the Pixel 9...
Both teachers and students say filtering originally intended to target adult content is instead being used by some school administrators to block LGBTQ+ and race-related content they deem “inappropriate.”
However, this will only happen if insurance companies agree to write more home insurance policies, including for customers in at-risk areas, including areas with wildfire risk.
The step back to one in three for Scarlet & Violet sets was painful after that, even with the decision that every single pack would include at least two reverse holos and one regular holo card. The irony being, when a card is guaranteed, it immediately stops feeling special.
I’ve driven twice from California (SD and SF) to the East Coast along the entire lengths of I-70 and I-80.
I only hope they make it pure electric or gasoline hybrid - as promising as hydrogen is, I’d like to be able to fill these up in states that aren’t California.
I experienced this myself - I knew a 2018 Honda Fit EX-L (the top trim) was perfect for what I needed, but other than there not being a ton of them made, most dealers wanted absurd amounts for them.
Why did Crusher call Riker “Bill”? I know William and Bill are the same name, but has Riker ever gone by that before?
This. I would need to have an entire side table devoted to holding up these vertical consoles whereas all TV cabinets are designed for horizontal boxes.
They studied more than 1,000 infected ants in the Bidstrup Forests near Roskilde, Denmark for 13 non-consecutive days over the course of a year, painstakingly tagging a subset of 172 ants for better observation.
In order for robotaxis to be the right way forward, significant investment needs to be made at the same time in buses, trains, biking, and walking infrastructure.
This. I’ve always liked Subarus, but hated that CVT was the only automatic they offered. That (and now their current exterior styling) was all that kept me from buying one.
The Element had a lot going for it. First, it was powered by arguably the best four-cylinder engine ever conceived of by humankind – the Honda K-series.
Yeah, I realize the distances weren’t comparable with the Glasgow example, that was just the only time I’ve seen transit meaningfully faster than driving.
