Of course, a new speed limit only works if it’s being enforced.

This. No one would ever propose different speeds of gas pumps, so why not let economies of scale bring down the cost of the 150 or higher kW chargers?

Came to say the same. I-5 is the one highway in CA where people actually have good lane etiquette, aren’t going 15 under the limit, or don’t swerve across multiple lanes at the last minute because they’re about to miss an exit. It’s the best part of the SF-San Diego drive.

You know what immediately makes me want the Puegeot over the Golf?

What’s weird about this suggestion is that when VW did convert a Type 2 as a tech demo car, Jalops had issues with it.

And many were CA-only or CA-prioritized and still couldn’t sell in reasonable numbers. My point remains that the basic EVs, even in the most receptive market, failed to make a splash.

It is federal law that, anywhere in the US, it is legal to turn right on a red light unless posted otherwise, as the 5 boroughs of New York City have done. Obviously this is because there are so many more pedestrians, but it also means just circling around the otherwise great grid system to find parking will take 4-5x

Whats wrong with a simple electric car? Like give me an electric Civic. Seriously.

or some brands will let you have blue exterior with a tan/brown inside, but others force you to have only black? It’s just confounding fighting natural color combos.

it’s true that EVs can’t match the visceral drama of a loud, powerful engine.

I can understand limiting combinations from the manufacturing side as a function of parts availability or logistics (like the Golf Sportwagen was built in Mexico and the Golf R in Germany, so no chance of overlapping bits there) but what I was more on about was that so few manufacturers allow you to explicitly search

This exactly - most OEMs offer all sorts of combo interior, exterior, and option packages, but dealers only ever stock the gray, low or mid-trim basic cars because they just want to sell to whoever buys off the lot.

I like what Genesis is doing generally, but I really don’t like how the headlights and taillights do sort of the same style but terminate differently. I submit to the group this bad photoshop incoming but an example of how it could be better:

I’ll be happy to wrong but more than likely it’ll just be like another one of these

Yep - making cheap and/or blantant copycat cars for so long has held them back from being taken seriously, which I honestly hope will change as they’re really doing great stuff now. Just looking at how quickly a brand new Stinger - a car lauded by damn near everyone who drove it - depreciates from 45-50k to low 30s in

Consider limiting the amount of light in the room where you’re watching. Close your curtains or blinds whenever possible, and keep light sources to a minimum. That’s how people used to watch films—in darkened cinemas where the only source of illumination was the screen.

Right? And this is only 1.5x as big as the CR-Z’s battery from 10 years ago

This, plus it ignores that those darn electrical microwaves have also been an acceptable and adequate form of heating food for 70 years, why would a stove be any different?

Just drove a sporty hatchback yesterday with <19K miles that bobbed and bounced all over a perfectly flat road, and someone had obviously torn up the shift interlock cover prying it open. Unless something horrible happened requiring the car to be moved not under its own power, that’s awfully suspicious for such a low

This x10. Get a freaking roadside carwash place to give it a 15 minute clean out before you photograph it, or else I know you don’t give a shit about doing a good job
