Because orcs aren’t human? Or even real? Orcs were created by an evil god for evil purposes?
But you may need to say that an entire race is evil so as to allow your players to enter their lair and kill them. If you start giving henchmen family lives, the whole story becomes a moral quagmire and certainly no fun.
i just can’t see how you can write something like “orcs are violent by default” and not see how bad that is
Let’s get one thing out of the way, because someone is going to jump down my throat: it is good to identify racial stereotypes *that connect to real life* and change them. Some ideas, like ASI are great. I am not going to comment on women having lower stats (or a Beauty stat)!
While Dungeons & Dragons uses the word ‘race’ to describe a character’s traits, they really mean something more akin to ‘species.’
Kind of incredible in how no subtlety was even attempted. Went out of their way to say “In case you thought about giving us the benefit of the doubt and this racist caricature wasn’t meant to disparage any real world people, let me reassure you that it was.”
Yeah I though, probably just some inappropriate tropes, art, and or other shit. Not based on an early 20th century medical texts section on race.
I legit guffawed in disbelief when I got to that race part. Even when the very title mentioned it was going to be racist, I still did not expect it to be that horrifyingly blatantly racist.
If you don’t have the ankle mobility to squat without wedges, it couldn’t hurt to try working on the actual problem instead of buying shoes OR potentially risking injury from those plates slipping out from underneath you.
What if aliens find an exploit in libjpeg, then rearrange the universe to trigger it, then the telescope takes the picture, beams it to silly scientists who put it online, everyone uses it as their wallpaper and the Earth gets owned?
just be wary of any strange Microsoft Office attachments sent to your email
“just be wary of any strange Microsoft Office attachments sent to your email.”
Something which really shouldn’t have to be said at this point.
What, no slideshow??????????????
It “fell out” literally seconds after pulling on it! So strange.
Looks more like 5 were killed. We don’t need DAs (especially in Texas) using this an opportunity to count the unborn as a full person and let that stand in court. It’s the same legal basis for criminalizing abortion. Losing a woman that wanted to finish her pregnancy is certainly awful, but no reason to count the…
I’m still trying to understand why she was driving so fast. This whole thing is just so senseless.
Everybody go listen to an excellent podcast called Hot Money, created by a couple of reporters from the Financial Times, about this subject before you rush to judgement. Visa and MasterCard are far from complicit — pressure from them in the interest of protecting their own reputations is the basic reason Mindgeek more…
Visa/MC has long been the enemy of legal sex work and legal (state) marijuana sales. It is sadly ironic that they are named in this lawsuit. It will only make them more likely to block otherwise legal sales/services that are not mainstream.
11th year with my company.
