The real problem is Paradox business model, in my opinion. It’s unique, and apparently works, but every single DLC they launch better be perfect, since they rely on dlc sales, and keep making them for years and years, intead of working in a sequel or new IP. Stellaris is from 2015, and the most recent dlc for the game

Not sure I would call that buff? Seems like he just lost a ton of weight instead.

That’s... a take. Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson have written more Dune books than Frank did. I don’t think anyone is starving in their households (and Brian wouldn’t have even if he never wrote a book - the residuals from Dune and the movie contracts are more than enough to prevent starvation). Brian is not a

I think Google see the tablet market correctly. There used for reading and video watching 90% of the time and there is no need to sell a higher end device for that use case. As they are handed to children who destroy them.

I’ve been back and fourth between Apple and Android phones, but nowadays, the iPhone can feel really dated. Ugly notch, no fingerprint reader, no app drawer, can’t even place your apps exactly where you want, and other annoying things.

I was primarily a Nexus/Pixel guy, but I feel those phones have been dropping the

“why not both” Because I don’t want to pay for two devices that do 99% the same thing and pay for apps twice?

Apple’s new tablet is nice, but there was a lot of fanfare for things that seem more hype than actually useful. Mini-LED is a step above LCD, but still can’t hold a candle to AMOLED that the Samsung S series tablets use. Apple’s cameras are arguably better, but I’m not sure how often that will provide a noticeable

Exactly this. ‘Extreme envy’? I mean if you can’t afford it (which is fair, these are needlessly premium products) then I understand envy but just because you have a different phone ecosystem? Seriously?

This cant be canon?

*Shudders* Brian Herbert.

I’m not sure anyone should get excited for another Brian Herbert / Kevin J Anderson collaboration to squeeze even more blood out of that stone.

The Imperium’s greatest warriors? They get their asses handed to them by the Fremen on the regular and even the Atreides house guard held up against them toe to toe even when ambushed.

I wish these crumbs would find anything else to do with their time. Like, the move to comics, to let them double-fuck everything they’ve already fucked, is the most clever thing they’ve done since they started these non-Dune shitsteams in Dune dust jackets.

These. Books. Suck. Ballllllllls.

The current series they’re putting out that “fleshes out” the lead-up to the movie is meh, at best.  Very uneven and confusing.

Everyone save your money and just keep you damn ears clean.

There are a handful of extensions that give you pgp on gmail or outlook but I have never had an occasion to actually use these features.

That all sounds good, truly, and this may sound the height of laziness, but there’s a critical mass of user accounts tied into my gmail account that at this stage? It’d make switching clients a logistical nightmare. I hear the privacy issues but untangling the garden hose of my daily digital life would be immense.

Points 1 and 5 disagree with each other.  Yes it’s free, but not with the features.  For that it’s $4 per month. No labels or folders on the free plan.

So only #2 and #3 are different (and better) than gmail offering. So “2 reasons to ditch gmail for protonmail”? with 500 mb in the free tier is really a questionable choice though.

Well, sure, but that’s an ambiguous construction no matter what. In your particular example I would assume the pirates were falling upon the captain, because it would be weird to say that an individual fell upon a group like a storm rather than the opposite. Sure, you could save that sentence by saying “The captain
