Meh, they didn’t write or direct Age of Ultron, so unless a story exec at Marvel backs this take, confirming that was the intent in AoU, then it’s nothing more than their head canon.

While I agree the episode would have benefited from a bigger loss on the side of the heroes, I don’t think it’s worth killing someone just for the sake of it. I assume the writers have more planned for Tyrion, Jaime, Bran, etc. otherwise one of them would have died.
