“This main guy just killed one of our three dragons with a single spear. He’s surrounded by white walkers carrying their own ice spears. And they're surrounded by a horde of undead. Maybe we should just abandon this rescue plan and just try to kill him, hoping he doesn’t kill us or our dragons before we get to him."

Yer lips are movin' and yer complainin about somethin'. That's whingin'.

Skipped Gladiator? You're missing out. I just enjoy it as a work of fiction.

This was a fun read. Does AV Club do one of these every year?

Dear Nintendo,

I think you summed up why this season isn't quite working for me. I just don't really care much for the characters. I've got a little bit of that for Nikki and Gloria but just barely, and I credit that more to the actors than the writers.

I'm glad others are able to find beauty and meaning in this show. To me its just more drivel from the man without a plan Lindeloff. But to each his own.

The death reminded me of that scene from A Home at the End of the World, which still fucks me up to this day.

"It has a shitty ending too, fucking over the survivors at the expense of David's story, when it really wouldn't have been too hard to write a more ambiguous or upbeat ending. It's a really unpleasant film overall."

Ridley: I'm going to make 4 movies to explain the origins of the Xenomorph.

It's a shame because Shea Whigham is such a talent, but they have him playing such an obnoxious stick in the mud. Also a bit upsetting that -aside from that one episode -
they've barely utilized Carrie Coon thus far.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. The way they curate their offerings is terrible.

Little Nicky. It's the only time I've ever walked out of a movie.

The game repeatedly holds your hand, oftentimes stopping Link in his tracks so that the companion can pop out and explain the plainly obvious and then tell you what to do next. 20 hours is an exaggeration but its fair to say the game does not respect the player's intelligence. The opening tutorial segment legitimately

I dunno about that. I'm loving BOTW. But it has me itching to go back and replay some of the older titles. As much as I love the exploration a part of me misses the walled gardens and dungeon filled games that came before it.

Do you like tutorials? How about tutorials that last for 20+ hours? Then I've got just the game for you. Do you like a companion who never shuts up? Do you like being reminded what a rupee is every time you restart the game? (hint: the red ones are worth 20!)

I love Gladiator. I love Ridley and his films. But please, let this one be. It doesn't need a prequel or a sequel. Go ahead and make 6 more Alien films. After Alien 3 & 4, AVP 1 & 2, and Prometheus they might as well do whatever the hell they please with that beloved franchise. Just leave Gladiator alone.

I rewatched it recently and couldn't help but notice that the T-Rex didn't break through that damn fence until the 60 minute mark. I had always assumed that came closer to the 30 minute mark/break into Act 2. Talk about a slow burn.

Amazing
