Agreed. Suicide Squad was awful, possibly worse than BvS. At least BvS had some decent WW moments and some impressive if overindulgent action sequences.

I had the same concern while watching that scene unfold. I don't find it plausible that they would go to such lengths just to keep their jobs. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens when they leave that operating room.
