I thought you were talking about Illinois / Wood River municipal law. I live just down the road. I think I would know.

It’s not law, it’s “store policy” (a potential trespassing situation).  And the whole point of it is just so they can capture everyone’s face on video.  I’d say it’s to help identifying after robberies - but these days they can probably do purchase tracking by face recognition alone.

Maybe not slightly new. But drastically new can be very good. That day I had leftover scrambled eggs and bacon and they became breakfast tacos the next day - all it took was some lime, cilantro, and sour cream. You can quick-pickle thinly sliced red onions with a little cider vinegar, salt, and sugar. Even though the

The unused food is your new pantry.  Whole different dish.  Use the new ratios to your advantage to give it a different flavor.

If we had done anything as soon as we knew the risk, we would be in a much better place.

Of course they knew that. But you can’t make a deal if you invoke the Defense Production Act.  We could have had materials shipped and in place before the retooling was even done.

Morehouse may be an HBCU, but it’s still a private college. That means there’s no public funds to pay for anything. It gets expensive. It’s not like colleges expect people to go into debt - they just offer what they have at the cost it has to be. The smaller a campus is, the less efficient it can be with expenses - so

Steam wouldn’t make a very useful propulsive device unless it built pressure in a cylinder.  And yes - steam is a gas.  It’s not stored compressed gas, but rather continuously generated.

It’s not just not wrong - it keeps a commercial real estate company from owning it, which far outweighs any possible bad.

Steam. Not pneumatics.

In my state, where they’re supposed to have been closed after 5pm today, unemployment is being offered with no waiting period to anyone who loses their job during this.

Civil suits only require “preponderance of evidence” level of proof. It’s criminal cases that require proof “beyond reasonable doubt.”

Wasn’t that the entire plan behind disbanding the pandemic response team a few years ago?  The administration assumed they could just re-form it when it was needed.

Of all the times to buy back stock, that wouldn’t make sense. They would rather have shareholders take the losses if they aren’t making money.

But families of dead people infected by an employee could still sue.

And according to homeopathic medicine, that makes the water more effective.

Depending on which X or Y chromosomes you may have, it will also vary by time of month.

The school’s slow ability to settle on a single set of exam and defense procedures (there’s one announcement one day and new instructions the next)

Imagine how much of your day is wasted when you have 3 hours here, 4 hours there - spread across multiple employers who don’t accommodate the others’ schedules.  That lack of efficiency means more time in transit, fewer paid hours, and no sick time.
